Windowless Homes as a Way of Fighting Defenestration?

Desperate Measures

"Data from the CPSC on the approximately 4700 children who were examined in emergency departments because of falls from windows during 1993 indicate that 90% fall from the first and second stories and that 45% had injuries defined by the CPSC as "serious," such as fractures, internal injuries, concussions, intracranial hematomas, and intracranial hemorrhages."

4,700 children! Not even counting the adults in 1993. Windowless homes are the way of the future.

but, children, think of the consequences now.

if we were to remove all windows, we'd have the suicide rate up by several times in no time at all. winter depression and all those good things that come with darkness..like..a hell lot of babies 9 months later..more babies meaning a lot more potential defenestrators..meaning..that you get even more deaths as the number of defenestrated kids will go down percentage-wise but stay the same in absolute because of the highe total number of kids, plus all the extra suicide victims..

good idea.

This data is quite old. In 1993 we were still stuck with Windows 3.1. This says nothing about how many children fall out of Windows XP.

Windows is evil. As is Bill Gates. And now, let's see how come...

Windows - Made of glass or plasic
Bill Gates - Wears glasses made of glass or plastic

So either glass or plastic is evil, or maybe both!

Let's do the fashionable thing and solve this problem with unnecessary technology!

Replace all windows with inward pointing, high definition monitors, connected to closed circuit cameras pointing outside that project the image of whatever's outside to the inside...

Naturally, we'll need editing software that replaces unpleasant images with something appropriate, like if a naked old man with leprosy walks past, the image is scrubbed and replaced with a mailbox or something...

So then a mailbox walks by and doesnt freak the crap out of people. I say take images of people walking by and replace them with images of naked pornstars walking by

if you have a tendency of falling out of windows (how is this done, exactly?) .. uhh.. i don't think a windowless home will help much. i think the problem is more mental than physical. i mean what the hell. how do you fall out a window!? :p

Yeah, we. The screens and cameras were my idea, all you came up with was the idea of adding the succulent, sweating, throbbing, strutting forms of mindblowingly hot women, their taut, firm bodies penetrating one's eyes with brutally intense sexuality, as they pass across the field of vision like sweet, tangy rivers of lust.

These are the problems that come to man when he strays from the teachings of Killer Whale Jesus. Children and women should be kept locked in the root cellar at all times. After all, a child locked in the basement is completely unable to fall out windows.
Sure, one or two might be driven mad by spending years without exposure to fresh-air or sunlight, but at least they will be safe from the defenestration that will be the ultimate destiny of all other children.

Interesting to see defenestration is a word in English. I learnt the French verb se defenestrer (to commit suicide by jumping out of a window) before the English. How odd.

In any case, just keep children in play pens, that would make everything far easier. Or condition them to fear windows... though I suppose that could have negative effects later on in life.

FOOLS! Don't you see the crisis our energy industry is in. Our enemies, rouge nations, have developed some kind of space weapon called "The Sun." With this "Sun" the market is literally flooded with cheap (FREE!) light. We are bathed in economic ruin! And don't think we can go to the WTO and complain about this illegal dumping scheme. Action must be taken now. I call upon the Congress to enact an anti Window law immediately. This is the only way to protect our struggling industries from economic ruin.

This is not the first time the West has had to face such a threat. Read this document by Frederic Bastiat from France in the 1800's!
