Blown to bits... Have to watch out for those Predator drones...

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - The operational commander of al-Qaida and possibly the No. 3 official in the terrorist organization, Hamza Rabia, was killed early Thursday morning by a CIA missile attack on a safehouse in Pakistan, officials told NBC News.

Instead of sending US troops overseas, we should invite 12-year old video gamers to join the CIA and US Air Force, and connect their home game boxes and computers to the Predators - let them roam all over the place looking for "terrorists".
No American casualties - no Cindy Sheehans crying in public - great video replays for the 24-hour news cycle.
We could even put a scoring system on the game...

Reminds me of an episode of DS9 (might have bee one of the books, I was bored). I do remember the kids rebelling though, not pretty for the admin.

Ok, do that. What's their score now?

Good question. The CIA is using them, and they occasionally do a press release.
The first one I heard about was a few years ago when they killed some guys in Yemen who were happily driving across the desert in their Toyota Land Cruiser.
They had no idea the missile was coming, and all that was left of the vehicle was the engine block and the drive train.

The article says a previous bombing killed the guy's wife and kids, but it doesn't say how many kids he had (or how many wives he had), so it's hard to tally the points. :( So.. it's worth a minimum 3 points, I'd say.. but the exact number? Not sure.

Good luck trying that. You'll never be able to stop the TKing, camping (resulting in obvious "shoot me signs"), gamers smacking their planes into things they aren't meant to and what have you.

Look, I was asking what the terrorist score is. My oppinion was that this thread as morbid as it gets, and since you cannot see it as such, I thought I'd enlighten you to the fact that, when it comes to such counts, they still get more points on that ideal screen of yours.

If you count bombing civilians, sure. The terrorists have killed into the tens of thousands of innocent bystanders in Iraq alone. Those don't count for points, or are possibly negative points.. Al-Qaeda's #3 leader should be worth bonus points, that's all I'm saying.. maybe 10 points, where an average jihadi is worth 1.
Oh, I see. You're shocked. That people are being hurt. In a war.
Technically, not a war. Pakistan is not a war-zone, and I don't buy that "war on terrorism" crap, since no one, EVER, has waged war on a notion.

Ok, take out a map. Look over it. Move your finger on Tripoli. And now Pakistan.
Not that because it's in a stupid song it shoul be international law or something. Hold the hubris.
EDIT: And what the hell is this in reference to? Piracy?
Because they didn't fight piracy, they fought pirates: vassals of the Porte, which had an army.

Would it be a crime to have a sovereign nation land some explosives on US territory if the targeted person happens to be wanted for crimes back home? I mean, even with permission from the gov, which I assume that Pakistan gave to the CIA. Without which, no matter who you aim for, its an act of war to start dropping HE on other nations territories.

I'm against the war, but I think your idea of hooking up game systems and letting kids do it as recreation is a god idea. It would help them with geography, international politics, and hand/eye coordination.

We did it in Yemen and no one seemed to mind. It would seem that either the CIA got permission to operate the Predators there and kill people, or the local nation doesn't care who the CIA kills.

Yeah, we had Pakistans's permission. No, it wouldn't be a crime for a US ally to bomb terrorists on our soil if we invited them to do it. The guy we bombed in Pakistan was wanted by both us and the Pakistanis.. seems pretty simple. The guy was wanted for two plots against Musharraf.
One measly point per terrorist? What kind of a game is this?
Alright. Let's get down to brass tacks here.
How about three points per terrorist leader, one per grunt terrorist, five points for any terrorist hideout, Five points for obliterating some sacred landmark or holy artifact, and TEN points if you manage to obliterate a terrorist in a crazy party hat.
This game is going to rock the fuck out.

I imagine that the US would be less receptive than Pakistan to the idea of collateral damage due to misses as seems to have happened in this article however.

The only "miss" the article mentions killed the guy's family.. it couldn't have been very much of a miss.. more like an attack the guy survived.

It says that 8 people including his wife and kids. I would assume that the remaining number of killed people were whatever bystanders that were in the area. And the person being targetted still survived. It may not have been a large miss, but missing with bombs and missiles tends to produce more casualties and damage than say, missing with a bullet.
But ultimately, I would suppose that these casualties among the bystanders could be easily brushed off as collateral damage.

Here's what the war sim would be like:

If we get the terrorists to play online, maybe we can do it all online, and no one will get killed - make it a MMORPG likes this:
