Had a crappy day. Stomach flu. I won't go into the projectile vomitting details.
So... home from work. bored. Sipped hot tea and watched movies all day long.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith: Kind of an average movie. Would have been a crap movie if Jolie and Pitt hadn't injected it with star power. Marginal thumbs up - but don't plan on watching it again soon.
War of the Worlds. I probably should have seen this one in the theatre. Didn't have much oomph on the small screen. A few good scenes, but really not a very memorable film.
Vanity Fair: Pretty good. Reese Witherspoon did an excellent job. The story, itself, is a bit depressing in the end. It starts out all "Jane Austen-y" but gets a little sad and unfocused ultimately. I never read the novel, but I get the feeling huge chunks were probably left out of the movie.
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou: Hadn't seen it in a while - but they're running it a lot lately on the movie channels. Must admit I have a soft spot for Wes Anderson films. Found myself laughing out loud at some of Bill Murray's perfect facial expressions and deapan lines. I like this movie more every time I see it. Bittersweet but ultimately cheerful.
Sean of the Dead: What can I say? Best Rom-Com-Zom (Romantic comedy zombie) movie ever made.
Well... that was my day... 11 or 12 hours of movies with the occasional barf-storm thrown in. Aren't you glad I shared this with you?
