Tea or the elixir of life for us Brits, how do you drink it
I like mine strong from the pot a little sugar and Tea in first so as not to boil the milk and it has to be whole milk, Biscuits Hobnobs (Milk choc covered if poss) or Cadburys oaties (Choc hobnobs with fruit)
as for the Tea PG, Twinings Traditional or yorkshire tea
I do like Ceylon and Assam teas as well which I tend to drink black, and peppermint tea as well (I know more of a tisand than tea itself)
so when it comes to Brit style Tea what options would you choose

Fairtrade teabags! Woo! Leave them to brew for a few minutes in the mug, whip 'em out, milk in (semi-skimmed, doesn't taste right otherwise). And ginger biscuits! Mmmmmm....
Though I recently tried Ayurvedic tea. It was...strange.

hmmm I forgot about iced tea, on the nice summer day (we only get one a year here <G>) but then I am the only one that will drink it.
I like te fact that most pubs where I go know will poor me a pint and put the kettle on simultaneously as I drink my tea with a beer chaser when I go out (curse my overt Englishness)

Definitely Iced.
I've never been a fan of warm beverages.
I also enjoy Mike's Hard Iced Tea which technically isn't tea. It's a tea-flavored malt beverage. But it's still yummy. :)

I don't drink tea. I use to drink iced tea, until I discovered it was giving me kindney stones. Now I allow myself two cups of coffee in the morning, and that's it. :)

I mainly drink coffee, but will have a cup of tea with my wife from time to time. She brews it strong in a pot, I like just a splash of milk.

For tea or coffee, if you put your spoon in it, and you can see the spoon at the bottom of the cup (with no milk in there), the tea or coffee is not strong enough.
Dark, opaque, hot, and very sweet.

I like standard issue tea (breakfast/normal brew bags, splash of milk, one small sugar)
I can't stand Earl's Piss; it tastes like dishwater.

I use a simple, time honoured technique to make the most delicious hot beverage going
I take the tea.
I pour it down the sink.
And I fill the cup with strong coffee....

If it's tea, it's Imperial Tea Room from Taylor's of Harrogate.
If it's coffee, it's Gold Coast Blend from Starbuck's.

I drink Twining's Earl Grey, very hot, very dark. Don't like anything getting in the way of the taste. Same with coffee--I've tried expensive coffees, but my favorite is Cafe Bustelo, a dark roast espresso ground coffee. It's like liquid crack, very rich flavor, and I don't put anything in that either.

It does taste a little like so much Sunlight soap has been left in the up, with that bergamot rubbish you could leave it for a century over a low light and it still wouldn't taste like tea.
If other people are making with a bag I just et them to leave the bag in till te temp as dropped to drinkable. or till the stainless steel spoon shows signs of corrosion or a good tarnish.
I seem also to be having a problem with a lot of Cafes and butty bars in that they seem to think that hot (not boiling) water swirled 'round with a tea bag in it for 5 seconds, with UHT milk counts as tea (shudders)
inidently I am on my 3rd cup since writing this tread.

There are a number of dark blends I drink - including one from Rwanda being carried by a local coffee shop that helps fund a co-op there. No Starbucks within a short walk of the office. And once or twice a week I treat myself to a cup of Blue Mountain.

Strong tea, 1-2 sugar per cup, depending on the size of the cup. I prefer English Blends, but in winter, I might also go for Earl Grey with a bit of honey in it.
Both teabags and loose tea are ok with me, if I have time I make a pot, normally I'll just go for the cup and the bag.

Starbucks had a "Kodiak Blend" when I lived in NY-It was excellent! I havent seen it in a long time.
I bought coffee for the office one day. A half hour later, one of my guys lurched towards the bathroom. It was clear what the urgency was- whe nhe came back, he said the coffee was strong-I asked him if it had "Liquidated his Assets ?"- that got quite a bit of laughter from everyone.

strong usually, depending on what i fancy. earl gray when i can (when not sharing it cos nobody else round here likes it :() and definatley always from a pot, with the milk in the mug first. i have a fairly good selection of loose leaf teas (9 i think at the last count) i keep in airtight metal containers, and a fancy special glass cafetiere-style teapot for the loose leaf stuff... use that when i'm after a specific flavour. mix of 1 spoon darjeiling and half ceylon is my current favourite :)

What is the deal with people liking Earl Grey? It doesn't even taste like tea.
Or are there too many Star Trek fans?

I drink Twining's Earl Grey
eew don't like their blend... kinda nasty tasting. bought a box of theirs ages back and still haven't bothered finishing it, heh.
earl gray's i'm using now came from a little indian foods wholesale shop in town but damn they're good :P
*star trek fan here*
i dunno, i just think earl gray tastes very nice. there's an extra quality to it (the bergamot i suppose) that makes it that bit more interesting than normal tea

It depends, really. Most Earl Grey tea is crappy and doesn't taste like anything much apart from detergent.
The first time I found a blend of Earl Grey I actually liked was in a small teashop in France. I think the main problem is that producers rather have the Bergamotte overpowering the aroma of the tea, and therefore use cheaper quality of tea.
