Considering the recent instability in the Mid East region, what would be your propositions for strengthening security and cooperation in that area?

To elaborate: Israel has ceded the Gaza strip to Palestine, but the Palestinians do not have access to water or air and only have one route which is through the desert to Egypt. Now I am not condemning Israel, as these measures are undoubtedly required for the current safety of the nation. Other issues include Iran's (purported) nuclear program and the recent uncovering of the Syrian assassinations of Lebanese officials. In a purely hypothetical context (I doubt many of us could actually implement any real changes) what do you believe would be the best course(s) of action to encouraging peace and stability in the region? What can or should be done to better alleviate the current tensions?

Use the current millitary budget to build several hundred 1000 mile long interlocking walls with gates every 100 miles that open once a month. Using a huge water containment system and several newly dug cannals flood diffrent sections of the middle east seemingly at random. After what I call my 3 year plan of systematic water tourture remove all the gates overnight and pretend nothing went on. Middle East wont know what the fuck. Have Steve Perry get back together with journey to write a song about 3 years later. Do an imediate world-wide release of the single and watch it become the number one song of the century. The middle east will be so overwhelmed by the power ballad that they find they can no longer fight a nation so embued in the power of rock. The middle east will enter a new golden age of peace and understanding with Steve Perry replacing Allah as god.
