I came across this story about an offending sculpture on the CBC.ca website. I found myself wanting to know more about this Glooscap, as I do have Miq'Maq blood, and there was something spooking me about the archetype. So I Googled it, and found a few things, some of it making for good reading, none of it really answering my questions, and then I found this link:

Talk about taking a weird path. How did I go from a local news story about a statue to discovering one of my favourite authors (Fred Pohl) had deduced that the mythical Glooscap was in fact a Scotsman? Or that the Templars were involved? Or that both groups of my ancestors, from North America and the Orkneys, were involved?
Who's eating this chicken??
