How much money do you make per year?

I make about 3000$ a year. Not bad for a semi-employed college student.

Only about $28,000 American before taxes and not counting any dividends on my few investments. Those get reinvested to help save up for retirement some day.

I make nothing - I was going to get a job during Uni, but my modules in history require excessive research and essay writing. Next year I think i'm switching to pure philosophy, which is far more relaxed and I get better grades in it, so might be able to get a job then.

But, I really don't spend half as much as my fellow students - don't drink alchohol, stick to weed and deliberately keep my tolerance low so it's cheap. A lot of people are into their overdraughts already and I still got £1200 in bank, from loan and savings from working before uni.

It sounds like a lot, but remember I do have to spend it as I go along!

I work in a camera shop making €7.50 an hour, which is the minimum wage here.

Summer €7.5 x 40 x 14 = €4,200
the rest: €7.5 x 8 x 38 = €2,280

I remember him saying once that he earned $7.25 an hour. I know that he works full time damn near 52 weeks a year. The only mystery is to what full-time is. It's probably a little more than 40 hours a week for him, so this I calculate ~$16,000.

My wife is a police officer. As for the Clowning Industry, it's very seasonal. Late Spring and early Fall are my busiest times and I have been known to gross $2000 on a very busy week.

I also work part-time as a blackjack dealer. It smooths the income bumps and provides excellent healthcare.

I'm a student who isn't working currently, but over the summer (3 months) I worked at a law firm and brought home a little over $4,000, and they say anytime I want I can have the job back, so I think I'd head back part-time to pick up some extra cash starting in January. Plus, my investments bring in about $2,000 a year, so I do all right.

The trick about the law firm gig was that even though the pay was incredible, I had to work my ass off. We're talking 100% all out for 50 hours a week. So don't go thinking I had it too easy.

I actually don't know yet, I just started doing what I'm doing. I make between $100 to $250 a day, depending on what I'm doing and for who. The best pay comes from selling out a little-reality shows and commercials.

My work is spotty so far. I worked almost a solid month recently (I mean solid) and now I don't have any work lined up at all. I'm bummed, too, because I just missed out on a job because they think I live too far away. Pissed, actually-it would have been a chance to work in theater again and at a pretty reputable one at that. Bastards, I should have lied about where I live.

But then, I'm only a student working a very part time job. If I wanted I could probably make about £9k a year part time around my Uni stuff.

Although, hopefully that will all have changed in about 5 years when I should have a degree from one of the top Law schools in the UK...I'm finishing my current degree in Modern History, and then going to do Law (actually at the same Uni, so it's pretty good for History, too)

I hate contracting would prefer a salaried job of 14k+ with stability to be honest I am etting to old for this.
That's how I felt, but all the contracts I worked for three years a) never paid enough, b) required me to spend ludicrous amounts of time, energy and money shilling my own services with precious little time for honing and improving my craft, and c) required me to spend still more time chasing down delinquent accounts. Thanks all the same, I'm far happier having a traditional salaried position.

Believe it or not, some of us were simply never meant to be businessthingys, much and all as there's some people out there who wouldn't have it any other way.

I just wish those people would shut the Hell up and stop trying to persuade everybody and his monkey that their way is the only way. Fuck that entrepeneurial noise.

I'm so sorry. That has to be awful. I have several friends who have had mild to serious mental difficulties and they all say that even just having the problem makes them feel depressed.

That's honestly one of the things I can say that having been in the Vietnam War did for me. I've had this attitude ever since that whatever happens to me can't possibly be as bad as things I've already gone through. I've come to accept that sometimes the only way out is through, and that there are times when you just have to simply refuse to give up or give in. I tend to get pissed and say something like, "I'll be damned if this is going to get me!" ;)

High school sophomore, so not making much now.
I'm a sound/theatre technician. When I get paying work through my local school system (not often) I make $25 an hour supervising/running equipment for private groups who rent out the middle and high school auditoriums. Next year, as I'll be a co-tech director at my school, I'll be splitting all the rentals evenly. Also, being a junior, I'll be getting payed for my internship, which will come out to $150 for all the big shows (all $ are US). However, I'm about to be set back a good bit for a new cell phone as I lost my last one, somehow.

Well, unless my math skills have utterly failed me, I bring in roughly 21k US dollars prior to getting my ass handed to me in taxes. And you know, oddly enough, I still find the remaining funding, even after all of the bills and what have you, enough. I can go out once in a while and have a good time, get into a poker game on occasion, cook for my friends. Of course, what I have to do for that money (while everyone else does oh so much less for oh so much more)... but that's another thread I suppose, my apologies.

...not as much as I would like for a full time job (40 hrs/wk), but I get good health insurance though my job (a rarity for 22 year olds around here)

...no dental though, which is what I really need.

And considering I'm also going to school part time, it's enough for me to get by without too much strain on the wallet...I don't have a whole lot of time to spend money. :)

You sell drugs, don't you? ;)

yayy!! debt blows!! *is trying fairly hard to not get in debt in the first place.... know thats impossible cos the banks own your soul from the day you're born, but hey its worth a try :p*

Between my wife and I , we make about 40k per year, but that also includes full medical and dental with no co-pays, which, if you've ever needed a doctor and couldn't afford one, you know it's priceless!

The medical doesn't kick in for another 5 weeks though. God, I can't wait to get my back fixed! Should shoot us up close to 110k after I'm fixed! :D
