In memory of the men, women, and children who are one of the few unforunate enough to be infected and affected by this horrible condition and the virus that causes it; to those who have fought and continue to fight the long battle that they face. Today is about getting people the facts about HIV and AIDS. Today is a day for people to get involved and there are so, so many ways in which you can do so. Wether it's donating money, or volunteering at some local organizations that assist those suffering by this condition. Even if it means just getting a Red Ribbon pin and wearing it throughout the day, it all makes a difference. The Red Ribbon is a sign of support for those infected and affected by HIV, and is a symbol of hope for the future.
The Red Ribbon started it all. All of you have seen the countless numbers of ribbons that support the various causes. But about 14 years ago Visual AIDS Media decided to create the Red Ribbon as a beautiful symbol to combat such an ugly illness. Regardless of how you decide to observe this day, you can help create a more AIDS aware society. One where everyone takes action to help those that need it.
