Assassination of Bush-Would you do it, why, and why there hasn't been one yet.

Seriously, if you look at many comments made about the President of the United States, and a resounding hatred for him, why hasn't there been a major assassination attempt on him yet? Many the better president has been shot and killed by assassins, yet Bush has not fallen victim yet? Please state if you would, given the oppurtunity, assassinate Bush, state why, and also state your opinion on why he hasn't had an attempt yet on him except for the grenade in Georgia(The Country, not the State) a while back.

P.S: Please no flaming.

Because its just one giant conspiracy perpetrated by a secret society to keep the world in chaos......or just that the secret service is really good.

Perhaps because most of those who have assassinated or attempted to assassinate the President of the United States of America have been certifiably insane and noted for their piss poor prior planning. :p

Seeing as to how the new Anti-Terror Laws passed the Lower House yesterday in Australia, I won't state anything of the kind, for I don't appreciate being hauled off to who knows where.

I hope the person who responded "yes, gladly" doesn't live in America. Because the Secret Service actually does take stuff like this pretty damn seriously.

Because it's treasonous.
Bah, that definition is vague at best. Most Americans now agree that Bush is not a very good president.

In a democracy like the US, the only thing that should really be considered treason is something that goes against the will of the majority.
The Ruling Caste (and in the US there really seems to be such a thing) is hiding behind the flag ever more often these days.

That being said:
why hasn't there been a major assassination attempt on him yet?
Because Cheney would take over!!!

Oh, it's not vague at all. Treason is spelled out in the US Consitution with perfect clarity. And I like to think that no matter what they think of him, the majority of Americans don't wish for the murder of their own president. I don't know how they do it in Germany or Australia, but whacking politicians because they aren't doing a swell job isn't really SOP over here.

I suppose the assassination would see Cheney as the new president?? Hell no to that!

Plus killing people isnt very nice.

Plotting to kill the head of state is practically the very defination of treason.

Although I shudder at the though of Cheney in charge.

booth and pal's plan was pretty good actually, as far as "assassinate and run" plots go. and czolgosz did precisely what he intended. escape wasn't really on the menu for him.

I've heard security experts say that an assassin who is willing to die is much more difficult to stop than one who wants to escape.

Because I don't really feel like spending the rest of my days in prison, I'm not going to condone the murder of anyone, and that it declares that we should reserve the right to shoot all those we don't agree with over something as petty and spiteful as politics.

By the same logic, instead of a vote of no confidence in Paul Martin, he just should have been shot by some loony so the people of Canada could move on.

Although I would love to see him dethroned in some way, I would never assassinate or support the assassination of him, or any other leader in fact. One, because I feel it is morally and ethically wrong (although those are both relative terms, and those who believe in the eye for and eye philosophy would not have many problems with him), but also, could you imagine the shit that left-wing americans would have to suffer? assassinated presidents automatically become martyrs, and the right would hold him up as a fallen soldier, battling for the future of america, shot down by the crazy commies who live in blue states.

plus, hes out in 2 more years and with the scandal his administration is facing right now....hes losing clout.

pointless......how would capitalism become pointless just because you killed a left wing idiot. Oh and for the confused among you conservatives don't waste money ie.most things this president has done, we don't like illegal immigrants...hell in most cases we barely like the proper ones, and a host of other differences

even aside from the obvious issues of treason and cheney, a leftist would have to be utterly nuts to even think about it now...

the republican party seems to be self destructing in a rather spectacular way. republican representive pleading guilty in bribery case and going to jail, republican speaker resigning under inditement, pres of the senate under investigation, vp chief of staff indited, republican lobbiest's lackey works out a plea deal on bribery of public officials and cooperates with prosecutors... the democrats have to be creaming their drawers over the way the winds been blowing
