There's been a few, The Thing, The Great Escape, From Russia With Love, Rocky, The Warriors(sooo cool...I haven't played it, I just like the idea), etc. (I can't think of any others.

I kinda dig that trend in a way. There was a moment a while back where some friends where discussing movies that shouldn't have pinball games (Schindler's List, for example.) Annnyway...

What classic film (we're using the American Movie Classics channel's current standard, meaning a movie that was made and isn't currently in theaters) deserves a video game and what would said video game entail?

For instance-
African Queen (prompted by a friend). You play as either the weathered captain Charlie who has to get the uptight Rose down the river or as Rose who has to keep the salty Charlie on course and convince him to attack the German ship. Either way it ends with you pushing the torpedo through a hole in the ship hull and pushing it through water...that relieves a tension of some sort...

there ws also a movie about a Scientist in the Brittish Army with a bunch of murderers and Awols who were given the mission of blowing up a German Fuel Dump in the Dessert.

The Man with the Golden Arm, a series of mini-games where you work off the guilt of the girlfriend you crippled, dealing card games for your corrupt boss, practice your drums for your upcoming audition, keeping your sidekick Sparrow out of trouble, all the while fighting off the pull of you heroin addiction.

Maybe too abstract...

Alfie the video game (the Micheal Kane version, with the Sonny Rollins score)-a Leisure Suit Larry style game where you...well, you get it. BUMP into people....

I have no idea how to do it, but a game based on the original The Manchurian Candidate might have potential, especially if you lose control of your character every so often when your computer handler triggers your control word.

That'd be pretty sweet, someone says your full name and all of a sudden you can't control your dude. It'd be like the horror games but with a big politcal bent. Quality.

I'm hoping that the Bond movies are only a matter of time with the release of From Russia with Love so I can soon get a The Spy Who Loved Me game and drive my submarine Lotus. I want a submarine car...dammit...
