Well, it would explain why men are turned on by the thought of two girls... but somehow, I find this explanation a tad too simplistic.

The theory above can easily explain how this situation could have arisen from an alpha-male dominated society, if the observation is made that male attraction to lesbianism can be used by women to influence men.

Hmm. The way lesbian girls/woman seem to touch eacother is much more delicate and sexual. Men like things that are sexual. But I think it's because it's not "normal" it makes it more exciting and more of a rush.
I say not "normal" because, although lesbians are very normal, for a heterosexual male, same-sex relationships are different to what they are used to. I don't know. Don't even know if that makes any sense. Too tired to check.

Well, the flaw in the theory is that most men will be turned on much more by bisexual women than by Lesbians, for te simple reason that they have a chance of having sex with bisexuals but not with Lesbians (unless all men get turned on by rape, and I seriously doubt that).

But no, I don't really have an explanation. Especially as very few women are turned on by gay or bisexual guys...

If you see two women making out there's a greater chance that they're bisexual than lesbians (if various psychological studies of female sexuality are to be believed), and therefore it makes sense in the context of the theory for men to be attracted to 'lesbians', as women making out is more likely to be a sign of bisexuality than lesbianism. But I don't think this is really relevant to the theory anyway, as the argument is that these tendencies evolved when humans (or rather their ancestors) still lived in small groups dominated by an alpha male.

I thought that, but then again there is a quite substantial subculture of females who love "Yaoi" - guy on guy anime porn with females as the intended audience. I think that more women would be attracted to gay guys if it was as socially acceptable as it is for guys to be attracted to lesbians.

Personally I find lesbians a turn off, not a turn on. I have no desire to sleep with anyone who isn't keen to do the same with me, and lesbians often don't even like men period, never mind are attracted to them. I'd even be wary of having a relationship with a bisexual girl - i'd be constantly thinking whether she wouldn't rather be with a woman. Really never understood the attraction of lesbians, but, different strokes for different folks I guess.

for me its simple: i dont like to see the male form. it is a huge turn off seeing a nice naked female masturbating, then seing a big ugly cock enter the picture. simply enough, i get turned on by women, not men, and it gets more interesting the more women involved. also, i think it is the natural male curiosity of 'we know how hetros have sex, we know how gay guys do it, but how the hell do lesbians do it.'

But, when it comes to porn, you get twice as many girly-bits per pixel.

1 woman = yum
2 women = better
2 women doing stuff to each other = hot!

and if you get the choice to watch (RL or pr0n) either a guy and a girl doing stuff, or two girls, it simply follows that rule :)

Actually, I knew a girl in high school, who was rather embarrassed to admit that she loved to watch, and was highly aroused by, gay porn. I don't just mean men kissing either.
