In light of recent attemps by those in the US government to censure and limit material that can be considered "obcene" I stand up and say "no more biatch!".
We are the Party of Good Karma (Or the Karma Party for short), with our major stance against any and all forms of censorship.
Party Platform
On War
The Party of Good Karma is staunchly anti-war and will make all attemps to discourage and prevent global conflict.
On Drugs and Alcohol
We support legalization of marijuana and will fight for the end of manditory minimum sentencing on drug charges.
On Firearms
We recognise ones right to bare arms, but will adopt a zero-tolerance policy for infractions.
On Abortion
The Party of Good Karma believes that it is a woman's right -and a woman's right ONLY- to regulate her body. She may do what she will.
On Homosexuality
We believe that homosexuality is simply another trait of the human psyche, and we whole-heartedly support gay/lesbian/bisexual rights.
On Religion
We believe in one's right to practice religion without any interference or discrimination from the government, and vice-versa.
On Evolution
We have no official stance on evolution, but do not believe that creationism is appropriate for a science class.
On Euthanasia
Again, what happens in a person's body is their business. Should a person who is terminally ill wish to end their lives, then that is their perogative.
On Media and Entertainment
We support full de-regulation of all forms of media and entertainment. It is a parents decision on what their children see, not the government's.
On Education
We believe it is every person's right to have a good education. We support higher funding to schools, but support a ban on mandatory schooling, believing that it is a parent's decision whether or not to partake of this right.
On Healthcare
We support a very well-funded socialized (though not exclusive) healthcare system, believing it is the right of every citizen to have decent healthcare.
On Free Speech
We support all forms of free-speech, outside the realm of "clear and present danger". I.E. you can't yell fire in a theatre when there is no fire.
On Business
The Party of Good Karma believes that it is the right of every citizen to pursue any and all business ventures within the realms of legality.
On Lobbying
We will brake the hold that corporations have on the government. if they want something, they'll have to work for it...like the rest of us.
On Unions
We support legal labor unions that practice peacefully and are open to negotiation.
