Fundie Pilot One: "Durka durka, Allah! Allah!"
Fundie Pilot Two: "Calm down, its only a chicken wound!"
Fundie Pilot One: *screaming in agony*
Fundie Pilot Two: "Well, other than the shards of glass the size of my hand sticking out of your chest, throat, arms...."

Thus, giving time for the Sky-Marshal to finish up the first class movie, his glass of wine, and take over flying the plane after dispatching the Fundie Pilots One and Two.

Don't they broadcast worldwide?

I think the show was better in the simpler days, without a half dozen supporting castmembers.. much more to the point. Not that the redhead isn't attractive, and I guess I don't really have anything against the chinese guy, but there's just too much clutter now.. it was a better formula when they would just visit some expert on the topic at hand, and then go back and try out the experiment based on the advice they got..

My favorite myth was when they trying to bust the myth that if you are getting shot at you should jump into water. I think they got up to like a 50 cal. and it still didn't get through the bullistics guy.

oh yeah that one........I was talking about the one where they tied big elastic bands to a foot ball goal post and tried to launch a bowling ball, and it didn't come out of the basket thingy and the thing shot back at them.......

they start out pretty good, but when things don't go well, then they just add to them (unrealistic conditions) until it does what they want it to.

it's not really all about science anyway, as much as it is blowing stuff up.

although, I understand where you are coming from, because I had serious problems with thier "control" toothbrush in the toothbrush myth they did.

(I missed part of the show that day but when they recapped at the end it sounded like the low velocity projectiles did better)

yeah, my mom hates that I let my kids watch it, but they fully understand that Adam and Jamie are stupid enough to do the stuff that we want to, but are too smart to try. This way we get to see what happens without actually having to do it. :D

In reference to this and a criticism of their being unscientific:

It is a show intended primarily to entertain, to be funny and interesting.
The hosts arent survivalists or gun nuts or self-important curmudgeons of any stripe.

Yeah, "The officer says to have another drink."
the funny thing is my dad actualy went to the local police department to get drunk about 5 years ago or so lol

We have family that works there (our 'in') and they get groups of people and get them drunk then have new and experienced police officers do road side tests periodicaly throughout the process

It was intresting lol I wish I was old enough to drink at that time lol

They're special effects technicians. The 7-Up machine that fired 7-Ups was Jamies and both Jamie and Adam are the special effects team for the up-coming Darwin Awards movie. Worked with some people who worked on that, said they where cool. (Lamest stretch for the lamest name drop ever...I met some people who met some people...ugh...oh well...)

I don't know, I kinda liked when they buried pigs in cement to see if they would leave a cavity in the ground when they decomposed.

While that was funny, nothing, nothing tops the reaction Adam and Jamie had when they entered the Corvette.

MythBusters Team Struck Down By Zeus

November 30, 2005 | Issue 41•48

SAN FRANCISCO—MythBusters hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, who dared challenge the sacred explanations of the order of the universe, were destroyed by Zeus Monday. "I soared ascending to the ethereal sky, and by merest nod massed a fearsome storm, and with mine lightnings struck down the naysayers Adam and Jamie," Zeus said in a press conference called to warn all doubters of his thunderous might. The MythBusters producers have issued a statement apologizing to the entire Olympian community and declared that, from now on, the program will focus only on myths unrelated to the Greek, Egyptian, or Norse pantheons.
