Pursuit

So, I was watching Mens and Women's Pursuit this weekend on Eurosport, letting my ankel sprain heal up before I go out and do almost the same thing next weekend in Lapland. I thought it was really sweet, even if it was a little boring to watch. Links, horrible but I'm lazy and I read the site before.

So, anyhow, Pursuit is where you go around on skiis and stop occasionally to shoot things with a gun that is holstered on your back. Now, this could only be incredibly fun with paintball or air-ball-gun things (yup, forgot the name), or even a good way to hunt stuff when there's snow. So I only have to ask myself, "Why haven't I ever done this back in the States?"

Go ahead and discuss, ya know, if you feel like. :p

Oh, yeah, it Swedish its like: ski-shoot. I thought it was amusing.

Another side note, Finnish sauna, naked, birch branch beating, naked snow rolling...oh, I'm so excited!

Oh, the Finnish Lapland. Clearly inferior to the Swedish one. :p

If its any consolation to you, I only got an hour skiing and a frozen river between me and the Swedish border. ;)

Practically nothing, then. Flee from your Karelian overlords, flee!

Alternatively, I could always make away with a Sami reindeer, strap myself upon its haughty haunches, and ride to Sverige, to freedom, and to a better exchange rate with the US dollar!

Worship the low interest rate! I don't know if you get SVT over there, but they had one of those funny "Socialist China news show about Swedish socialist comrades" things they do on Faktum, (http://svt.se/svt/jsp/Crosslink.jsp?d=42597&a=480722&lid=puff_371462&lpos=lasMer) and they spoke of how good a weak krona was for exports, but also how good a string krona was for keeping inflation down - the marvellous Swedish krona was both weak and strong at the same time! :D

In Åland, we get Svensk and Finsk TV channels. Couldn't watch the news thingy, I got no head-phones, and I'm currently in a library. :(

People from Åland, though we don't have the most money, go to Stockholm or Uppsala every weekend because everything is cheap. Well, at least cheaper than here. So, a weak krona is good for turism and exports. And I don't see much "cost of living" problems in Sweden, but over here in Europe, its a huge difference than in the States. Food is so cheap, no wonder why the country's so fat!

Anyhow, this site is interesting...I'll have to lurk about it for awhile, and the KINA-TV padge is amusing, in a twisted Maoist propoganda sort of way. :p

And I gotta go look for some glögg. That stuff's the bomb. ;)
