America's Army: Rise of a Soldier NOT on all systems?!

When UBI was making AA:ROAS, they said it would be for consoles. I thought it was all consoles. Then, they said only for Xbox and PS2 when it came out (not the only consoles, btw).

This made me very angry, I was looking forward to this game ever since I've first heard about it. I'm not old enough to have a job where I could buy a whole new video game console (I'm only 16), and my family only has a Gamecube, they don't want toget anything else, no matter what my strategy. From complaining to beging to sucking up, none of it works.

And it also had me wondering: If AA:ROAS is a recruiting tool, why not put it out for Gamecube? The young generation (usually 10-15) are what mainly own the Gamecube, and the young generation, if taught about the Army, may want to join. So why not teach as many people as you can about the Army, including Gamecube owners?

I was outraged, if you are a Gamecube-only owner, please tell your feelings about this. Thanks.

I think Nintendo would be better off doing what Sega did; pull out of the concole market and strickly make games for their former competitors.

Not really, Xbox 360 is going to have a shortage, so more than half the country are not going to own it. Also, PS3 shouldnt be the only option. Xbox 360 is going to fail because of the shortage, and PS3 needs competition, so I think Nintendo might as well stay in and make as much money as possible.

A 85 Year old
An Adult that still sleeps with that stuffed Charmander from 5 years ago

If you really went out and bought a Gamecube without being one of the above, you don't deserve AA:ROAS.

Or, play the less expensive version of AA.

While it's true that they are completely out of XBox 360's at the moment, the resupply should come in before PS3 or Nintendo's new system. I don't know about Nintendo's new system, but I don't expect PS3 before March, but more realistically, probably around late April or sometime in May. XBox 360 should have more supply by late January or sometime in February.

Those "shortages" are an intentional part of marketing. It's to drive the demand and hype. Besides, a shortage would indicate you're doing good, meaning you're selling 100% of your product. Hardly a failure. It's a surplus of units you would need to be worried about.

Christmas is comming up. Ask for a Xbox 360 or a PS2.

Who the fuck is saying half the country isn't going to get an XBOX 360? That's just NOW, in the upcoming months because they're releasing it in various placing OVERSEAS at the same time. Microsoft is LOSING money on every XBOX they sell? What does that mean? They've made it so it'll be sucessful in a LONG run. A VERY long run.

Exactly. There was an issue with the hardware and Microsoft had to rebuild a lot of their systems. Even with that, about 5% of the systems that were sold are having major issues, but Microsoft is paying for the overnight to send them back to get fixed then overnighting them back to the customer.

Regardless of whether the shortage was intentional or not though, XBox 360 resupply will still be in stores will before Nintendo or Sony get their systems out. I still would condone the purchasing of a Nintendo system though, no matter how cool the control may be. Nintendo died with the fall of N64 and the rise of the XBox.

And at the price of a XBox 360 on Ebay, you can build an extremely powerful computer anyway...

Umm... Where in my entire post did I say that Xbox is losing money with ever console they sell?

I said that they will lose money because of this shortage in the United States. Don't take what I said out of context. And yes, with such an overpopulated country like the United States of America, not even half the country is going to own one until PS3 or even the Revolution comes out (which will most likely stop them from buying one since they've already got a console).

Actually it's common for a system to be sold less than what it costs to manufacture. The idea is that they'll make their money back and then some with game sales.

Actually, systems are generally sold AT COST. Never below...

And as far as the shortage and the claim that people won't buy XBox 360 because they'll already have a PS3 or the new Nintendo...I'm wondering where you're getting your information from...

I work in retail, and the information we're getting is that Microsoft should be shipping more XB360s by late January or sometime February.

I don't know anything about Nintendo's system, but I do know that Sony has announced that PS3 will be released SPRING of '06. The first day of Spring is March 23, and Spring goes all the way into June. So it could still be another 7 months before Sony's system comes, but 4 months at the minimum. I'm guessing 5-6 months is probably what we should expect. That's plenty of time for XBox to be resupplied to the stores.

Actually, both dates were originally pagan holidays (Winter Solstice and The Vernal Equinox ). Around 354 and 360 AD the Christian church moved to celebrate The birth and death of Christ on these days in an effort to combat paganism and convert its practitioners.

I am getting ready to sell my PS2 as well. I figure if I don't wait too long, I can still get $100 in-store credit for it...and my PC will be more than happy to tide me over in the console-less era until I get around to getting one of the next-gens.
