Ok so I saw this one thread and said, "Hey that would be a cool one to respond to!" Then I looked and saw the discussion was about gold and silver...and went "WTF?" Then I realized that I had misread Metal. (Don't ask...I still haven't figured out how.)

So then I said,"Hey I can make a new thread that covers what I was going to answer!"

And here it is!

So what is your favorite meal. I don't mean which meal of the day, smartalecs!

Mine is Roast Beef, a large pot roast slow cooked all day with carrots, patatos, and onions in the same pot. Add to that slick dumplings made with the left over broth. Heaven! If my mom also makes 5 cup salad (fruit salad with cherries, pinapple, peaches, coconut and yougart), even better. Finish it all up with a pecan pie slice and I am one contented little kitty curling up in front of the fire with an extremely full belly. ( I really do that too. :D )

I'm fully into Vietnamese Pho (rice noodle soup) & bubble teas at the moment.

I couldn't really say what my out & out single favourite meal is though.

In no particular order:

The sausage ragu and thick, short pasta from Marcellino Ristorante in Phoenix, AZ

Mussels sauteed in butter, garlic, white wine and herbs

Oysters on the half-shell

japanese bbq eel

foie gras with truffles

Lox, eggs and onions

tawny or vintage port wine with colston basset stilton, ideally after a good cigar

tamales

my friend's mother's green chile chimichangas with his grandmother's guacamole

my mother's chicken and dumplings

king crab

Yum Cha!

I just thought of it. It's sort of cheating because you eat all types of different things, but I love it. It's perfect for sharing with family & friends.

T-Bone steak marinated in soy sauce, worcestershire, and garlic, cooked to perfection on the grill (medium rare), with Portabella mushrooms, boiled potatoes smothered in butter and garlic powder, and canned greenbeans.

And I MUST have pepsi to make it perfect!

And it's even better if you kidnap a PETA freak, take them to a chair, and make them watch! :D

Hmm...a tough one.

The main course would have to be either BBQ Chicken Breast or Smoked Salmon.

The side dishes would be a baked potato (salt and pepper only), uncooked carrots, and sliced pears.

Dessert is a dish of plain vanilla ice cream...add a Guinness and a BIG glass of water as beverages.

Damn it, you made me hungry! :p

A salad with croutons and ranch dressing, a healthy cut of New York steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, garlic bread, cheescake drizzled with strawberry sauce and some milk to wash it all down.

Seconded by Quesadillas.

Everything is better in buritto form. It's a fact. Everything. Don't test me.

The following are acceptable, but would be better if as a buritto...

Chicken Parmisgan sandwich. So good looking up the spelling alone would drive me into fits of desire that I could not currently stand. Deal with it.

Lasagna, also good.

Not to be a ninja turtle or anything, but pizza is pretty good.

Pastrami sandwich, rueben of course.

Just about anything involving alfredo sauce.

Sweet and sour chicken. Most chinese food involving chicken. I love eating chicken. Chickens are bastards.

You know where they're the best?

In a buritto.

Hard to say, because most of my food comes in boxes or cans. But I suppose my ideal meal, if it were cooked normally...it would be:

Meat and cheese lasagna, with garlic bread, mozarella sticks and a big old glass of Sangria.
