Anyone have it yet? Are you impressed? I probably won't get it for awhile because most of the games shown so far look like current gen PC games.

All of you people out there waiting in front of best buy to buy yours, MOVE OUT OF THE WAY IVE BEEN TRYING TO GET IN FOR ABOUT 26 HOURS AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH......Anyway i can't seem to get my hands on one....even though ive been waiting here w/ my laptop...for hours...and hours...and hours....

I probably won't get one. It doesn't do anything that my current PC does not, and I'd prefer to spend that money in expanding/upgrading my PC than in a games console.

I want the 360 soooooo badly! I'm a huge Microsoft fan. Yesterday, I was constanly begging my mom if we could get it by this Saturday. Yet, I disagree on how you think the 360 games look like curent gen PC games.
Anyhoo, one question, is the 360 sold out in America at this moment?

Yes it is, well at least in my area until January. The Games shown so far other than Oblivion and Call of Duty 2 have failed to impress me, COD 2 and Oblivion I can get on the PC with superior online capabilities.

Damn. Or, wait where do you live? You probably are in a different continent.
I so hope it's not sold out in America.

It's sold out alright. Microsoft probably engineered the shortage to make it look more wnated than it is.

Los Angeles, according to my local GS manager, the stores in my area are sold out.

The reason I prefer generally prefer the PC to a console (largely because I have more experience of the former, maybe) is that my mouse&keys control is much better than a joypad-style one.
(inserted edit: without a wheel/footpeddle peripheral set, I'm probably not properly using the PC racing sim games I have, though, given that my preferred style is modulated cursor-key use rather than either mouse or joystick... But then I'm more a fan of cartoony driving sims than the hyper-realistic ones, anyway, so I don't think it matters too much. ;)
Spent some time in a shop today, playing the COD2 demo. Many times I died while trying to shoot an exposed enemy soldier, because I couldn't target them properly with the tidgy joystick. I ended up (with autoamtic weapons) lining up horizontally but below and letting the gun 'ride up' with the recoil. I think I've been pursuaded to get COD2 for the PC. Probably better graphics, too. (Not that the 360 can be sneezed at, but I suspect a PC with SLI graphics is better.)
(And the ability to apply user hacks, or even develop your own...)
I /may/ get a 360, but so far, like you, I'm not won over.

a friend of mine has COD2 for PC and he said it looks better on Xbox 360 thanhis computer. however, if he had a better video card it would change it. he has a radion 9800 pro 128mb
the xbox360 sucks. the only games they had going for them were halo and doa, and those are not only non-release titles, but apparently halo3 is going to suck ebcause bungie did not get too much ahead notice about making it and theyre working on the halo movie. so at this point, xbox360 is a pile of crap (and it crashes alot). wait for the ps3. its gonna have at least 1 good release title (mgs4 w00t). adn hopefully killzone.

I'll only get one when it's been cracked and I can fully utilise the network and hard drive storage thingies on it, y'know playing movies off the network and such?
at the moment, you can't do that.

yeah, but look at the price. that and 360 is screwed up with advanced tech never mind the ps3's more or less unused tech that could screw up even more

Do ya even have a 360? I wouldn't say that it crashes a lot if I don't have it.
One more thing, I like Killzone a lot, and hyped for Killzone 2, but did you believe in the lie that Sony produced about Killzone at E3?
EDIT: Hope this isn't considered flaming or flamebait.
See, I'm just not gonna by one. At all. They already have the next xbox planned out, so in four years, they'll have that too. Then, I'll just by that, then everyone will be stuck with there old Xboxs (which will be worth about $25) and there old xbox 360's (which will be probably $110). It's just a waste of money.

not to mention banana controllers and what, 1 maybe 2 good opening games.
other than games and a bigger processor/memory, what is the graphics difference? i know that sony counts something in pixels that microsoft doesnt.

Do you really think that Sony would have even mentioned the 51-billion-dot-product-operations per second number during the PS3 press conference if Microsoft hadn't boasted that the Xbox 360 could do 9-billion-dot-product-operations per second? What if we told you that Sony combined the CPU and GPU performance numbers to come up with the 51-billion number while Microsoft only reported its CPU performance number? The Xbox 360 actually has 33.6-billion-dot-product-operations per second if you also include GPU performance.

obvioulsy the current games are gonna look just like current pc games. theyr single threaded and half are out on pc as well. give it a few months and developers will start using the multiple cores and then the games will be as pretty as the pc games that are also available in a few months.
I love my pc. im buying a new one soon though because it only works when its cold and i dont like the cold.
I find the endless cycle amusing. Every now and them, people suddenly go completely insane over 'the best games consoles ever made!!!'. I remember similar hype when the SNES / Mega Drive (AKA Genesis) consoles were released. And then when the Saturn / Playstation consoles were released. And then when the Playstation 2 / X-Box consoles were released. I remember even older consoles, but earlier consoles didn't seem to get as much hype. And this cycle will continue forever. Every few years, everybody scrambles to get a console which will become outdated within the next few years, when they scramble to get the next one. What's the rush, anyway? These things are on sale for years and years before they are rendered obsolete. Why do you need to buy one within seconds of launch?
I, on the other hand, just slot in a new component here and there when my PC becomes outdated. No hype. No fuss. No (rather pathetic, IMO) excitement. Slot in a new graphics card here, a new memory stick there, occasionally replace my motherboard, and go on with my life.

Check the fans and that cables are not blocking the airflow. That may be causing it to overheat. Unless it's old and it's time for a new PC anyway.
