As the basis of the neoconservatice movement, I doubt many people on this forum have missed it. [insert standard opinions on neocons here]

The Project for the New American Century is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to a few fundamental propositions: that American leadership is good both for America and for the world; and that such leadership requires military strength, diplomatic energy and commitment to moral principle.

If only the rest of the world would agree...

I guess so, and it makes a change from all the Intelligent Design threads.

They argue that America unilaterally ended the Cold War, and hence we should all do whatever America says for all eternity.

Europe's hegemony is gone, and America's will eventually be. It's going to be balance of power again not unlike the situation in the early 20th century, when there were multiple powers each competing for influence, power, and technological supremacy.

Each century has had a different leading power since the Renaissance. The 15th century was Italian, the 16th was Spanish, the 17th was Dutch, the 18th was French, the 19th was British, and the 20th was American. For better or for worse, I think we're looking at a Chinese 21st century. The American imperialists, though, aren't going to like that.

Posting the link to the PNAC website is really old news, but I'll give an opinion. I think that some of what they say is right. Not that I want a global American Empire, but I think that agressive American foreign policy has done good in the past and still may do much good in the future. For example, the invasion of Iraq has caused that country to become a democratic country where there was once a land of tyranny and human rights abuse.

Yea, because The Friendly Americans (tm) never harms anyone... That is, if they're willing to die to make the US rich.

Skrew PNAC. I don't normally advocate murder, but I should like nothing better than to rip those sick fuckers to peices. Go support project for an old american century instead.

Germany and Japan.

Indeed America compares quite well (despite some hiccups). How will China fare as The superpower in 21st century?

See, I was reading the Wiki page, and it didn't really bother me, thinking it was just a fringe group or something.

Then I got to this: "After the 2000 election of George W. Bush, many of the PNAC's members were appointed to key positions within the new President's administration:"
