One of the most interesting Catholic legends I've come acrossed recently on Wiki is the story of one Pope Joan who was (supposidly) the first and only female Pontiff in Catholic History.

For several hundred years people believed that there HAD been a Pope Joan and she had an offical bust in the Vatican. But alas her legend was debunked and Pope Clement VIII ordered the busts destruction.

The reason I bring up Pope Joan is that I've heard that they are making a movie of her story in Germany and I wonder if anything thinks it would make a good movie or not.

Read Pope Joan: The real female Pontiff. It's a book written by a feminest trying to prove the excistence of the female Pope and eventually concluding she could not have excisted.

Now to debunk some myths:

The so-called Bust of Pope Joan belonged to a male Anti-Pope

Gaps in Papal history do not account for the reign of Pope Joan and through sufficant research show period where mutliple Anti-Popes vied for control

The alleged Pierced Seat was never used in Papal conronation and was certainly not used to determine the gender of a Pontiff

Those claiming there is a position between the Lateran Palace and St Peter's Bastillica where Pontiffs will not look (on account of the alleged murder of Pope Joan on that place) neglect to take into account road works and actual Papal Route.

I know Pope Joan is only a legend but still it IS an interesting legend, but I'm trying to figure out how good of a movie can they make with the story without screwing it up.

I Consul Chair with a hole in the bottom "as if pierced...". The legend goes that a potential Pope would sit on it, in their robes, and a Cardinal could reach under the seat and feel for genitals. It is also rumoured to help prevent eunuchs ascended to the Chair of St Peter.

It's where a new pope would sit naked and a bishop would put his hand up a hole in the bottom of the chair and feel if the new pope had a set of balls. Then he would say something like "Our pope has testicles, they dangle nicely".

Hope this helped!;)

Actually -according to legend- the words are "He has testicals!"
