Is it just me or do most of the people I know seem kinda fake?

So I'm in jr yr at HS, and I'm plodding through the yr (2nd Qtr just began) - after two years, it feels like most of the people seem fake...I make friends with geniune people so it's not a problem. But with me and my friends parting ways (different responsibilities n such) I'm now surrounded by the fakest of people....

Granted this is a transitional period for me right now (been shifting my responsibilities myeslf), but has anybody ever felt that same sorta feeling that people aren't genuine?

Are you asking me to judge people you know and that I've never met...?

Ok, they're fake and so are you

Most of the idiots in high school are fake, unfortunately. All they care about is what the rest of the world thinks of them.
I know a girl who I had always thought was a total moron, without a single brain cell, and she is actually quite intelligent. She pretends to be stupid because it's easier that way.

Methinks you are shifting from objectivism to solipsism. For what it's worth, some philosophers have argued that even the self is an illusion, so maybe you are fake, too. Sorry, but I'm just saying, there are philosophers out there that argue that.

I think it's Junior High School. I would try not to lose sleep over it.

No, that's just reality. And people will only get "more fake" as you get older and your peers do to. They'll become more private as they deveolp their own family lives and such. At your age, most people are social butterflies, but they're a lot more open and giving of themselves socially. Get used to it.
Wait until you really see what the business world is like.

Super-Power isn't in middle school. I think we'd be able to tell.
He's a Junior in High School, FYI.

You're joking. People become more self-centered and fabricated? good lord, I didn't know it was possible.

Ok. Sorry, I misread the original post. In any case, I know nothing of American schools. He could well be in Sausage School, and I really wouldn't know the difference. That said, I'd stand by trying to just get on with it, no matter if a few people perhaps are 'a bit fake'. There's more to life than fretting than over the unseen.
