So, what do you think? Was it purposely done or was it just a virus?

I find it funny they tried to pass it off as a glitch. Because random glitches occur in the shape of an 'x' on a person's face all the time.

A big X? I'd settle for Dick Cheney's severed head on a platter.

No, Dick Cheney Porn.
I know you'd like it.
Only if it involves him and one of those "jack hammer" fucking machines.
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the MIT nerds did this. They've done wierder shit.

Have you ever operated studio editing equipment? Once during a senior multimedia presentation for my Film & TV class something (I still to this day do not know exactly what) generated some kind of moving bubble over my work.
Then again, even if it was intentional... I'd still say they're less biased then Fox.

That's funny as hell :D
Some virus did that, huh? Hehehehehe. That is actually a very funny, non-agressive form of protest, I'd say.

There was commentary about this on Fox News and some caller said the FCC should revoke CNN's licesne
-At that moment I lost all faith in democracy

Ok, now that statement went a tad to far. I did find it funny that it occured but somehow, I'm not buying a virus. I have never heard of a virus that causes this type of thing to happen.

You can write a virus or any kind of malicious code to do almost anything thing you want.
But i would want to look at their equipment before i draw any kind of conclusion. Regardless, it's either a stunt from one individual working for CCN or an external 'hacker' (although I have problems using the term hacker in this type of context.)
I do not believe that a news network would do this intensionally, it would be too much of a risk. They only want to make money after all.

Anyway, I didn't see it. But probably just one technician "protesting" or something. Or a glitch. Don't know/care too much either.

My favorite part is when they said, "We tried to recreate the problem." My mind filled in, "But it only works when Dick Cheney's face is on the monitor."

I buy "college nerds did it" over "CNN intentionally did it" to be honest. I can more envision a bunch of geeky liberal college guys thinking it would be funny than I can envision someone at CNN staking their career on a stupid political non-statement. I can remember how many times MTV channels in college would get hacked into to edit the broadcast.

Hey everyone, when even Michelle Malkin (http://michellemalkin.com/archives/003970.htm) says she buys CNN's explanation after further technical disclosure, you've got to admit that this was nothing but a technical glitch, a fuckup, and not a conspiracy.
