And I have been naive enough to think hunting was about skill and conservation. I wonder what they (http://www.themichigantimes.com/media/paper620/news/2005/11/07/Campus/Msu-Professors.Link.Hunting.With.Sexual.Violence-1051224.shtml) think of fishing?

Three female Michigan State University professors studied the magazine "Traditional Bowhunter," and concluded that hunting is a form of sexual violence with animals substituted for women. They describe hunting as, "erotic heterosexual predation, sadomasochism, restraint for aggressive sexual energy, and allied with the abuse of women." I think I need to take up bowhunting.

Then again, didn't Freud say that psychological accusations
reveal more about the accuser than the accused?

I don't know who said it, but it certainly makes sense.

Hmm... I wonder what their conclusion would be if they analyzed shopping for shoes...

I think feminism has gotten out of hand. I'm have been accused of being a male chauvinist because I have said waitress instead of waiter (Or was it the other way around?), or declining to go dutch on a date...

I have no problem with women's equal rights and stuff, but it can get out of hand. Hunting may be a masculine sport (not to be confused with competitive salad making, a mesclun sport), but that doesn't mean it should be analyzed in such a way. Its simply one of the many things that men, and women (I have to remember to be politically correct), do to feed their testosterone.

Two things I've thought of since my first post need to be mentioned.
1. What does this theory make women hunters out to be?

2. We may have been duped. This is an University of Michigan publication that makes fun of three Michigan State University faculty. College pranks, or Wolverines that aren't as dumb as Spartans?

I think it was also Freud that said "Sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar."
