sounds like a good way for the locals to make money through tourism
why do they think he is Buddha? Maybe he is just a really quiet kid.

Although Buddha realized that denial and punishment of the body was not the way. It's one thing to crave and another one to keep the body healthy.

Sure, why not? When it comes to reincarnation, there's no real way to confirm or deny any claims. For that matter, one could claim that the lungfull of air currently in their lungs is the same lungfull of air that was once breathed in by King Tut. It's still air.
