The Cowbell!

Well this is probably as old as... well, someone or something very old, but oh well, there's bound to be someone out there who hasn't seen it and will appreciate it. And besides which, those who have seen it should still like it :D

Enjoy. May take a bit of time to load, but easily worth it :D

The skit fucking rocked when it was new, and it still does.

Seen it already, albeit recently.

Thank you Potaria - I was getting worried that no-one was gonna reply to this, and that it would die horribly in the depths of forum hell.

This thread must live at least a short while - the Cowbell skit must be spread around, even if everyone has already seen it. As you say, it rocks!

So that's where the "more cowbell" came from...

I love Christopher Walken, but

Hahaha! That's brilliant. But lies! The Cowbell can cure anything! Who needs Chuck Norris' tears when you've gotta cowbell eh? Lol, that reminds me of a Family Guy moment:

Doctor: Mrs. Brown I have bad news; the tumour is malignent, you have two weeks to live.

Woman: Oh my God!

Voice over: GOT MILK?!

The skit is a prime example of the fact that SNL hasn't been funny for ±25 years.

I can't say anything more appropriate than our good friend Potaria, so I'll let him say it.

I've never seen much SNL, so naturally I hadn't seen the Cowbell before. It started out and I wasn't overly impressed, but then came the cowbell part in the song, and that immortal line... "It was sounding great, but I coulda used a little more cowbell."

From there on I was too busy dissolving into gales of laughter.

Please see my reply to Reaganodia - again I can put it no better.

I think the sketch goes to prove that the cowbell in music is like chlorine in water: just a little bit will do the job but adding more just makes people nauseated.
