Poll is on its way!
So, what do you think? Who was the greatest male Columbo villain? Countless hours of debate have gone into this topic, but everyone seems to have an opinion regardless others' attemtps to persuade.. ;) So, who are your favorites?
I'll add my ten favorites for the poll, but, of course, feel free to deviate from my suggestions and let us know your pick. I'm keeping to male villains for simplicity's sake, and not because there haven't been good women killers (Janet Leigh, Ruth Gordon, etc.). :)

Poll is now up and active! :)
Remember: these are my suggestions.. my runners-up would probably be Leonard Nimoy, Robert Conrad, Johnny Cash, Eddie Albert, and a few others.. feel free to dispute my picks.
Columbo? That is too old for me.

Wuh? Doesn't it still play where you are? It's on a few times a week here, and timeless as always.

It's not on any of the channels I have. Granted, I don't have that many, but still. Also too frumpy for me.

Dick Van Dyke
Cannot think of a name

You skewed it in such a manner so that I can't drop my obscure Columbo villian, Ida Lupino. Except that way. So...I'm just not going to explain it...

Aha, that's a good one too.. almost slipped my mind.. :)
Edit: Dick van Dyke, that is.

I know, although she was in two of my favorites, Short Fuse and Swan Song..

Your either a Lupino fan, a serious Columbo fan, or a film student/graduate. All of which would make you a little odd. I'm a little of all three, so ...

Where the fuck is Leonard Nimoy as the evil doctor?

It was a good show, but I haven't seen it since I was a kid. I don't really remember any of the villans, only that Columbo would ask what seemed to be stupid and irrelevant questions only to use the answers to solve the case and show the criminals that he was much smarter than they were.

I mentioned him in the second post.. he was a runner-up for me, but a very honorable mention.

Ah. Well, I didn't read your post, much less see it. :p

I'd give Nimoy the title of "Most Cold-Blooded" Columbo villain, just off the top of my head.. that was a good episode. :)

Yeah, and when Columbo let him know that he knew... Nimoy's villain's reaction was classic.
Ricardo Montalban. I can't believe he wasn't a poll option. He was the bad guy in one of the best episodes: A Matter of Honor.

Ricardo Maltoban's a great villain in every show/movie. His Naked Gun villain was classic.

Damn. That's true, he slipped my mind.. He probably belongs up there more than Shatner or Roddy, but those two blinded me with their stage presence.. :p I mean, Shatner *was* the show when he was on screen.. the plot didn't matter (which was convenient, since the plot was kinda thin in Fade In To Murder).
