Without the PT, America would never have joined the war, and it would have dragged on for much longer.

English people live in Britain, so they're also British. Britain is part of Europe, so they're also European.

OK. So, what exactly do you mean by "care about"? I agree that it was historical significant, and like all events of historical significance should be remembered. Does that count?

You dont like answering questions do ya? Youve been asked twice how old you are, and you just dismissed my question of what you consider english. In all seriousness, please, because with the Celts, Saxons, Normans and stuff, well English is pretty vague. Oh, and tell any welshman or scot theyre english and theyll probably break your face. Which makes me doubt youre even european if you didnt already know that.

Since you live in Australia, I think you probably care about the PTO. The Japanese did bomb the North.

It's bloody forty degrees hot and 70% humidity and 12 noon. Not fun at all, so I stay in my room till the storm starts at about 5pm.

Sure.

Australia would've been invaded had Fletcher's TF-16 not stopped the Kido Butai at Coral Sea. (Althought Fletcher's command did take a beating with the loss of USS LEXINGTON and the severe damage received by USS Yorkton.

Yeah, the Aussies looove to claim that. It was a joke really, compared to the serious bombings in Europe and East Asia.
So I'll be nice and choose that I do care.

This is Freaking Hilarious. Talk about a thread hijack...
And just because the severities are worlds apart, that does not a bombing negate. I believe the RAF were flying missions out of Rangoon, Burma for awhile.
Britain had colonies and what not in that area an were involved directly in combat with the Japanese. Possibly the russians also. So I suppose they should be. And if the Americans had done really badly surely it would have crippled the war effort in Europe. It was afterall the same war.
Why ask this question?

I care about the pacific theatre, but only because all the calculations the British government made were dependant on the war in the pacific not ending until 1946, and thus we wouldn't have to start repaying loans until then. Unfortunately the nuclear bomb landed on Hiroshima and ruined our plans. :headbang:
