Hi I'm New...
Hey, I'm new here. I can't wait to start this RPing thing in International Incidents, it looks really awesome. But I was wondering, what do "bump" and "tag" mean? I saw a couple posts were the only thing the person said was either bump or tag.

Welcome to the asylum! :D
BUMP is to bump the thread to top of forum (for attention).
TAG is like putting a tag on the thread for future reference.
There's an NS FAQ around here somewhere.
Cool thanks, I just wanted to make sure what those meant so I could use them properly.

Prepare for a heaping helping of what I like to call "social entropy".
Just keep scanning the General threads and you'll soon see what I mean.

Remember that there are a huge group of people on general who wont go near the RP forums.
And the other way around.

Read the "Stickys" on the forums before posting.
Each has it's own unique rules.
:)
I spend most of time in NationStates (NS) and sometimes in International Incidents (II). When I'm bored, I am in General.

Tags are generally frowned upon in RPs. You can avoid them by clicking on "Profile" (top left-hand corner). This takes you to User Control. You then click on "Edit Options", then look at the second box ("Messaging and Notifications"). At the bottom of it you will find a bit called "Default Thread Subscription Mode". If you choose "No e-mail notification", from then on you will find all threads in which you have made a comment listed in your Subscription box. If you want to be e-mailed whenever there's a new post in a thread you've posted in, you choose one of the other options.
It's also possible to subscribe to threads that you just want to read without taking part. The easiest way is to use the "Thread Tools" function at the top of the forum. If that's not working (thanks a lot, Jolt), then go here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9873195&postcount=8) and follow the instructions.

That's because you haven't attempted to start an argument about one of the hot topics. ;)
But welcome to NS. Enjoy your stay and don't take us too seriously.

It's based on the number of posts you've written.

Especially if you're into Chuck Norris, Ninjas, Pirates and Zombies. Those seem to be frequently discussed subjects here.

I'm already sick of that chuck norris thing. It's already worse than the Myrth fad.

Greetings!
You want to RP? Well, I do that sometimes.... :::evil grin::: I must be one of the rare few who post regularly both in RP and General. A lot of Generalites never RP, and vice versa (for example, I believe there are one or two RPers who have no fewer than three posts on the General forum and more than 8,000 elsewhere)...

Weclome to the angry debating place:p Its only half the time so don't worry, at least with me it's half the time. The rest of the time we hate each other or put :fluffle: smilies to make fun of each other's saying something goofy, dumb or just to tease somebody.
BUMP means they're lifting the thread to the top on the board and
TAG means they're they're referencing or whatever:rolleyes:
