I'm announcing that I'm going to take a break from the forums for a while, maybe longer.

I've had a lot of personal problems these past months and NationStates gave me a place to preoccupy myself and receive support. I've recently managed to get over my problems and I feel its time for me to move on. The times were great and I'll greatly miss debating, but I really need to scale back on NationStates and get back to my real life that I tried so desperately to avoid.

I'll probably still be around and I might lurk occasionally, but I've made the my decision earlier today and I think now is the time to pull it through. The library I'm in closes in about 2 hours so those will be the last 2 hours that I'll be overly active on the forums for some time.

To spare everyone the effort of replying, just imagine most people say:

"Oh no! Don't go! You make the forums a nicer place. It won't be the same without you."

While a couple of people who later get banned for flaming say:

"Good riddance. And another pointless goodbye thread."

I'm strong enough now to face it now and while NationStates has been an important and enjoyable part of my life, its also distracted me from other important issues.

Just wondering, why do people say "I will not say 'goodbye', just 'au revoir'" as opposed to "I will not say 'goodbye', just 'Auf Wiedersehen'"?

I don't actually know anyone who says that. But cheesy sitcoms and such.
