So was it really by 'mutual consent', or do you reckon Ferguson was finally just too pissed off with Keane to allow him to stay?
And where's he going to go next? Arsenal could do with someone to replace Vieira...

Yikes - to think I was worried about Iraq descening into civil war when all the time this was happening. :-) Seriously though, he's getting too old to play and if he wants to manage then it wouldn't be at Manchester United.

Just send Keane over there, he'd sort it out in 10 minutes. Him and Stuart Pearce.

Apparently he was informed he was to be stripped of the captain's armband so he walked.

Well... he is important. He's one of the few good players Man Utd had that still puts his heart into every game and caring about the big fat pay check every week instead.

To be honest its been on the cards for a while, after the tv 'interview', the training ground argument in Portugal and a few other bits and pieces (as seen in the local papers) he was always going to go. But I didn't think it would be like this, i thought he would have gone in January. Still now its over, he can go to Celtic like he has always wanted, or managed Ireland.

*sigh* we may have lost Keane ( he was in the right btw), but aren't we all forgetting Shrek and Ronaldo... and Rossi... and Ballack and Duscher... we will still win the CL this year

Ballack and Duscher? Hah! You have no chance with Ballack, and Duscher just won't cut it in the Premiership. Maybe for a team like Villa...
Arsenal have more chance of winning the CL this year (though I think it'll be Bayern...Ballack probably won't leave then).

Ballack, I dunno actually. Now Keane's left he may just be tempted, it seems like role cut out for him, and a good challenge. As for Dushcher, he probably could cut it, he is a superb tackler, good physicality, and generally all round midfield player, or there's always Maschereno.

Maschereno's a bit young...but he'll be bloody good. He was on Championship Manager, at least.

:) Somehow I agree with you, I've been a season ticket holder for 8 years and this is the worst Forest team I've ever seen.

Kellarly, did you go down foto the city groud for your thrashing?
