I got this Playstation game yesterday 17th Of November 2005
I bought it shit it is awesome.
Sure all i have done is driven around in a tank but i enjoyed doing it.
Now all i need to do is get the weapons systems in order and i shall be able to blow up some Frenchies!
Yay.
You can call in Air strikes and Artillary.
Has anyone played it?

If its the same game I have for PS one , then yes I have played it . No French tanks to blow up though . I do remember driving around with my Panther tank while playing the German Panzer song full blast on my system and blowing everything to shit ..:D

No definatly not this is the second much more improved version.
My Boss has the first verson and when i told him i had bought it for $100 and that i was afraid it would be crap but i had taken a chance in buying it anyways he said it was kind of poor but then i said how it had Airstrikes and Artillary strikes he said his game didn't have these capabilities and seeing as this was on the PSX/One and mine is on the PS2 it was figured this must be the 'Beta' version judging by the name Panzer Front Ausf B that would make sense.

Some things i have learned.
The Valentine is truely underpowered Under Armed and Under Armoured.
I was up against Itaian Tanks yeah Wops and they were meant to be absolutly useless but their Tanks can absolutly own mine.
They were coming up in lines of 5 and i only have 3 tanks of which i am only activly controling one of them and i am pretty much doing all the killing i get hit once and the engine room is smoking or Turrent wont turn or elevate.
There is absolutly no armour on the back and the you cant make a hit and run because it is slow and turns like a pig.

On another i have a Panzer II they have rat arsed 2omm Cannons and wouldnt hurt a fly and even against the French Hotchkiss which wasnt a terrible tank it is smoke but the role of a PanzerII isnt really vs Tanks it is more suitable against Infanty or Medium Artillary or Anti Tank guns.
I thought id be a smart arse and lay down some fire on some Frog Troops but little did i know there was an Anti Tank gun behind a wall in a ditch to my left.
I'd made sure i had hidden behind a block of buildings but obviously not well enough whether they blew up the building next to me or i just covered well enough i got 3 shells in the side and it was good night nurse.

Oh there is infantry but they are too far away and moving up.
That or i am meant to call them up into the battle.
I dont think there are any.
It is 1940 did the Germans use the Flammpanzer at that stage?

I think so - it's a Panzer III chassis. Have to look...

The flampanzer was being used in the low countries and France ..its a panzed I or II chassis ..the germans did try to make use of all their armor even after it became obsolete or obsolencent by using it for self propelled artillery and assault guns etc. At any rate I cant get Panzer front for PS2 because it was never realeased in the US ...at least thats what the web says...enterbrain doesnt seem to have a dedicated website for that type of info. I have Code name panzers though..if you like tanks this is THE game both phase one and two are mod freindly and two has an awesome game editor , the graphics are top notch so the tank models are almost spot on .

I do wish I could drive them instead of controll them though :D

Flammpanzers were never in full scale use. If they were hit by explosives, the whole lot went up in smoke, incinerating everyone inside. The crews were often reluctant to get too close to enemy infantry and use the flamethrower, so they got picked of by PTRDs before they could do anything. The Germans would never have used those things in Barbarossa - they couldn't spare the fuel.

I had a look on Saturday and i only played as the Germans in the dessert so obviously that didnt help but it is so frustrating.

They give you 8 HP/AP shells so you can't waste them by missing the target and 40 or so AP shells which are sweet as for taking out Medium Tanks but only the HP/AP shells can hit and kill the heavy tanks and i accidently fired a few off at the Mediums and then missed a few times and wow they other tanks in the Platoon do not fare to well and get cleaned out rather quickly then to make matters worse if you get hit the other Tanks mull about and won't complete the mission but the game isn't over until the enemy completes their desired target.

Unless of course you force move them but then they get cleaned up anyways.
