100 Palestinian children saved by Israeli hospital

A while ago, someone here (Neo Leonstein, I believe?) was looking for "good news" kind of reports from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Well, I've got some (http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3170962,00.html)

The lives of 100 Palestinian children have been saved under an EU- funded project carried out by the Save a Child’s Heart organization at the Wolfson Medical Centre in Holon, the Delegation of the European Commission to Israel reported.

“The project - The Heart of the Matter - provides Palestinian children with open heart surgery and other life-saving treatment. As part of this process the parents of the Palestinian children encounter the parents of Israeli children undergoing similar operations at the Wolfson Medical Center in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and respect that spreads to their broader communities,” the EU said in a statement.

That can't be right. Are you sure they didn't harvest organs out of the kids or something? I mean if I've only learned one thing from this forum it's that Israel is teh eebil.

Dude I don't hate on Israel. It was sarcasm based on how often people bash Israel on this forum.

I'm sure they were just fattening them up and injecting them w/ enzymes to make them digestible to their demonic stomachs.

Even more unbelievable is that it was funded by the dastardly EU - the evil French and German Empire with their Nazi-like socialist policies.

Maybe it's part of Europe's surrender to Islamofacism. What a puny, cowardly continent. I mean, it's not like Europe has even fought as many wars as other continents. I think. I wouldn't know, I don't study their filthy history.

History? What history? Europe didn't even exist until the late 1940's when the glorious USA put it together out of scraps from failed states like we're doing with Afghanistan now.

Peretz? Mr. General Strike? He is on my list as the last politician to ever vote for. His general strikes almost cost me a visit to my family once.

Don't expect him to win the 2006 elections though, he doesn't stand a chance even if Sharon steps down and someone completely random takes over the Likud. The Labor can count on 30 mandates at most, the rest of the Left and center-Left is bound to shrink further, and the Right is about to form a very powerful united party that has the potential to surpass the Labor in size and become second largest (after the Likud). Lucky us probably won't see a Left wing government for a looooooooong time:D

Either way, a change is long overdue. Arafat is gone, but the anti-Arafat block, which pretty much defined its policy by attacking Refugee Camps while at the same time blaming and criticising the Palestinian Authorities, is still there.
Abbas has a very, very tough job ahead of him, trying to gain the confidence of the Palestinians, and the Sharon Government really isn't helping, military/security necessity or not.

Maybe a new government more willing to work together or at least not interfere with Abbas would be a good idea. Might also help Israeli domestic policy to change the focus a bit.

And I think its a good thing that the EU helped broker this. They can do some good! Well, as much good as an uber-Communist conspiracy group can do that is.....
