For Canadians: Whatever Happened to Huey & Margaret?

Molly's Reach in Gibson, B.C. circa 1972. Molly runs a modest restaurant by the municipal docks. Living with her are her two teen-ish grandchildren, Huey and Margaret.

Except, something happened along the way. Huey and Margaret vanished. This wasn't quite like Richie Cunningham's older brother Chuck who vanished after the second episode of 'Happy Days'. Huey and Margaret were major characters for several seasons of 'The Beachcombers', and yet -

Nick Adonidas never mentioned 'em again. Neither did Relic. Constable Constable wasn't even on the show yet, neither was McCluskey, Relic's henchman. Jesse, who had been Huey's best friend, acted though nothing was amiss even after his friend's disappearance, and Molly suddenly seemed to have no family other than her restaurant patrons.

On seeing re-runs of the series, it appears that CBC somehow has managed to lose the first five or six seasons altogether, what with the action including characters I am not at all familiar with - but none of this answers the question that burns inside me:

Whatever happened to Huey & Margaret?

If you have any idea as to what I'm on about, please respond. If you knew the show and have any guesses or notions as to their ultimate fates, post them here.

I don't even remember them. As kids go, I just remember Jesse's younger sister. Then again, I don't think I remember before Constable Constable - the years they were there might conincide with before we had a TV.

If they did just disappear, that's just wrong. Is it too late to put their faces on milk cartons?

Thirty years on? You might have to put the faces of Huey's grandkids on that milk carton.

I think they were abducted by aliens. Fits the bill nicely, anyway.

Wait a minute - circa 1972? That's why I don't remember them. I was only a year old at the time. It makes sense that I don't have much memory of the early seasons (even if we had a TV, and I can't remember if we did then. Sometimes we did, and sometimes we didn't.)

I gotta go attend a stoopid AGM tonight - no idea when I'll be back, so I think I'll just bump this lil' thread in the hopes of getting some opinons on the matter-at-hand.

Seeya later.

I remember watching The Beachcombers as a little kid, but it was too long ago to remember those characters. At a guess, I'm going with the gimp thing.

Wow, a reply - I'm totally impressed!

No clear leader in the poll yet, I see. Hmmm.

I think it's obvious I've overshot my chosen demographic here.

Oh, woe is me - and poor Huey & Maragaret.
