Young Fogeys

There are not many of our rare breed, but I wonder if the forum is adorned by any other Young Fogeys.

What I mean by this are certainly sensibilities usually only present in old men.

Old books, enjoying a pipe and cigars, scotch, wine (which I have been enjoying all evening :) ), dressing traditionally, that sort of thing.

In my case it extends to using a safety razor and a badger brush with Truefitt & Hill or Trumpers cream to shave. (almond and lime, respectively)

Few things in the world are as sublime as a glass of nice port after a cigar or with a pipe of Dunhill 965, ideally with some Colston Basset Stilton.

I love tweed, enormously, also button down oxfords, v-neck sweaters, shetlands, boat shoes and loafers sans socks.

Sometimes also called "trad," especially the sack jackets and flat-front trousers.

No. But if there is, you should know that both the youth and the true traditionalists think you're uncool... I say that with love. Like when a father beat his son with a iron rod.

Um...not really, but scotch > all. Although it's on par with Irish whiskey.

I'm not what you'd call a fogey... but I do hold popular culture in high levels of contempt...

Dressing up in suits, blazers, dress shoes, tie and stuff is very fun, and I look so good in them. It also lets you know what chicks like and stuff, I get so many compliments when I wear something like that to school. But its all more modern, generally with ties and shirts in the yellow, purple, blue, and pink spectrum of colors. Some old books, but without that queasy old book smell. Wines are good, I don't particularly scotch and other harder stuff. Pipes? With bubbles only.

I to also hold popular culture in contempt. *a bubble blown from pipe cues music, tears off blazer, and begins to get funky*

I don't know how you can engage in such frivolity with england being in such a crucial position right now. (164-7 chasing 198).

I would call this a hijack, but since cricket is kinda of an old people sport in the US of A, its not really. :p
