What kind of person chooses "Myrth," anyway?

Apparently, all polls need to have an option of "Myrth" so that people who want to click without thinking have a choice. What the hell? Is it too much to ask to either give an honest answer or butt out? I'm confused, and it seems like most people around here know more about this option than I do. What's the deal?

I would love to be able to contribute, but my understanding of the Myrth mythology (Myrthology, if you will) is quite muddled. I have this vague understanding that Myrth was a mod who somehow came to be viewed as a god-figure. Or something like that. And some people just like polls so darn much that they'd rather have a "Myrth" option. Or a "Roundhouse kick." All I know is that GWB doesn't care about the black ranger.

Yeah, he was, and I think I might have chatted with him. Not sure how he got to be an option these days, though. I know I started "Amerigo is a land of contrast" as a standard edit for doubleposts back in the day, and I'm damn proud of it. Did somebody start "Myrth?"

There is no explanation needed for Myrth. In the beginning, there was Myrth. And Myrth was with Chuck Norris. But Myrth was not in Chuck Norris because Chuck Norris didn't swing that way. All things were made by him; and without him not anything was made.
Myrth is just one of those unknowable things, like the 100th name of Allah and how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop.
To sum it up: Myrth Was. It's like Jesus Wept, two words that sum up something beyond human understanding.

I will never dump crap in your threads by spontaneously insulting a political group in a way that's likely to annoy people, and I'd very much like for you to return me the favor.
Anyway, when did this tradition of using "Myrth" as an option start? Any idea who might have started it?

Do you really want me to go thread digging? Is "Bush apologist" really a political group? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?
Besides, nothing in a Myrth thread is allowed to be taken seriously.
Except for that last sentence.
And that one.
And that.

It takes 513 licks to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop. My friend Mike counted.

In the interest of keeping this thread on one topic, I give you three options.
1. Leave politics out of this thread. (YES)
2. Leave. (NO)
3. Continue to bring politics into this thread, thereby marking yourself an asshole. (NO)

Because they (the polls) have emotional problems and are out of touch with their spiritual side, obviously.
When there is a Myrth option, I usually just laugh and vote whatever I was going to vote anyway, but when there's not, sometimes it irritates me to the point of really wanting to vote "Myrth."

Why are you talking about my mother?...
And no, I can't imagine anyone thinking my sister is hot. She's got nasty blonde hair and has braces and a very arrogant demeanor. But that has
Perhaps the reason you are against Myrth options is because Myrth is your mother and the cause of unresolved psychological issues?

It's a shit fad that started when people would put 'Myrth' (who was the main mod crushing our spirits at the time) as a poll option in polls about people. It then spread to other polls, and eventually got worse as various newbies who had no idea why it was funny in the first place (if it ever was, which is doubtful) and it spread. Amazingly, Harlesburg is right for once.
