Weird/funny Relationships

Come on guys, let's spill the beans on trippy relationships you've had. One of my personal favourites is when I dated this German girl. I speak very bad German and she spoke even worse English.

Communicating was a less then fun task. We tried using Dutch as an intermediate language, until it turned out we both sucked at that to.

Don't know about weird, but I might be in a relationship. It's a sort of informal thing, such that I can never tell at any given moment whether we're going out of not.

I'm in a relationship with a lesbian, while I'm nonsexual. We're at some weird point between being a couple and not being a couple, so that I don't quite understand what are standing is, beyond that I'm quite sure we're both romantically attracted to eachother.

Add in the facts that we live across the Atlantic Ocean from eachother, she's 21 to my 17, and she hasn't come out to her family, and it makes for a rather interesting relationship.

I'll presume your an NZ girl who has come out?

Yeah, there is nothing worse then a non-defined relationship.

The strangest relationship(s) I had was when I was 16. I first went out with this bald chick (it was the 90's), and then we added another guy to the mix (my boyfriend). It was good kinky fun until he got a girlfriend, who me and baldie hated. Then it went back to the original, more traditional configuration.

Late teens, but does that really matter? I was under the impression that a couple of attracted very close friends but generally socially awkward people undergo a similar process regardless of age, especially if they're separated by distance for about half the year.

This is my one relationship: (It was 9th grade, so you can't blame me). My best friend of the time (though we are no longer close) set me up on a date with this dorky guy. At first I said no, but she finally insisted that he had already said yes, and that I couldn't reject him, etc, so I agreed, and she, having informed me that she lied about him saying yes, ran off to tell him. We hung out in groups and went to the cinema once, but we weren't very good at the dating thing; we hardly ever talked, and I, at times, thought I might be in love with one of my (male) best friends (which I wasn't).
I attempted to give the guy an ultamatim, saying that I wouldn't date him unless we stopped acting like friends. It didn't work. In all my dreams, he had confessed undying love to me, and we were happy after all. But we just decided not to date anymore and haven't spoken since, although he sent me an apology email after I ranted about him "leading me on" on my blog. (Ok, he didn't deserve it).
It was a very odd relationship, which manifested similarly to an arranged marriage: I didn't like him ahead of time, but he was starting to grow on me. Mostly, I wasn't upset about losing him, but the thought that I must have looked such a fool when I waved to him, tried to make conversation, etc, when he probably liked someone else (ie: my best friend). I was a total hyprocrite then, but that was a while ago.
Now, I'm trying to get over being in love with a completely unattainable guy, but I can't discuss that here, for reasons I also cannot discuss here.

I"m in that situation at the moments as well. My suggestion is to assume your not. Cause if you say you are, she might take it the wrong way and that could be bad.

I'd say the strangest relationship I was ever in was when some friends of mine set me up with a girl I had never even seen before without my knowledge. A week or so later she came up to me and broke up with me because I was "a horrible boyfirend"

Hah, no. Nova Scotian. Though I have technically 'come out' to my mom, but there's not much to be said about coming out as a nonsexual.

EDIT: But yeah, the whole non-defined thing is a bit annoying. I tend to just ignore it and 'act' however I feel like when talking to her. That seems to work well enough.

Well if you were younger it would be harder to tell, but there are far more tell-tale signs as you get older and relationships "enter a new level"...

Oh, and the Transgensered girl is 3 years younger than me (putting her into the underage, illegal-if-we-were-to-fool-around category) and the Drag Queen is 9 years older than me.

My brother was with a girl. And by with, I mean he didn't talk to her for months. Middle School relationships are funny.

Well, there was my mail-order bride from the former Checz republic. I expected there to be some discrepancy between the photos and the actual person... turns out there were about 45 YEARS of discrepancy! If she had started young, she coulda been my mother!

Man, I was really looking forward to the one I ordered last week! Guess I'll have to tell the postman that I changed my adress.

Well, let's see... there was the radical feminist philosophy grad student (please, kids, don't try this at home.) She'd had so many bad relationships prior to dating me that she had no clue how to handle it when a man actually treated her well (which I did). Her personality made for an interesting roller coaster ride, and every conversation was a minefield.

When she broke up with me, she said it was because she was tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop (by which she meant that I'd turn into an asshole and start beating her.) When I told her that I'd never beaten a woman and never would beat her, she said she knew that - but that she just couldn't believe it. (Well, did she believe it or didn't she? Yes, she did and didn't. Must depend on your definition of "is" or something...)

She then went through four men in the next six months before she finally found one who would treat her badly enough for her to be comfortable.

All part of the fun and games of romance. It makes me glad I finally got off of the dating merry-go-round with a woman who is approximately sane, most of the time. I was lucky.

Love is a weird and strange thing, isn't it? :p
