Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to open or expand 484 stores across the United States next year, over 100 more than previously disclosed, according to an internal document obtained by a leading Wal-Mart opponent and released to The Associated Press on Monday.

a walmart is about to open less than a mile from where i live. i think its a big conspiracy. once a walmart has been built at every strategic location around the world, there will be some kind of wal-mart attack. reminds me of the movie independence day...

Walmart thrives off of people having large amounts of disposible income to spend primarily on impluse purchases at their stores. The increase in gas prices is significantly limiting the amount of disposable income that the average person has. I think that wal-mart will in the next year see a decline in profit unless their is a major drop in gas prices.

He won't save you! The first Wal-Mart was a failed attempt at cloning his left toe (don't ask why they just wanted his left toe, just understand that someone did), but something went wrong and a Wal-Mart grew.
Therefore, to destroy Wal-Mart Chuck Norris would have to fight against one of his brothers, and he would never do such a thing.

Wal-Mart isn't so much a store anymore as it is a Way of Life/Cult.

Let's go to the War-Mart and pray to the bouncing yellow smilie face that slashes prices and brings us the glory of the light of the Twelve Wal-Mart Gods to us all!

When mail-order companies came into existence, local stores got pissed.
When department stores came into existence, local stores got pissed.
When Wal-Mart comes to town, local stores get pissed.

Notice how there are still local stores.

Meh, I refuse to shop there. If I'm going to buy cheap crap that's going to fall apart on me a week after I buy it, I'll go to the dollar store. For cheap clothes, I'll go to value village, for toys, Toys 'R' Us still kicks ass. Et c. I have no reason to go to Wal-Mart.

Notice how they are dwindling faster than global warming can melt ice? When was the last time you saw a "mom and pop" five and dime?
When was the last time you heard of a gas war, or even a family owned gas station?
How about computers? 10 years ago there were literally 10's of thousands of them..no such thing anymore.
Like Home Depot? 10 years ago there were almost 90,000 mom and pop hardware stores in the United States. Today there are under 33,000 left.
Think it matters what channel you turn the TV to for news or what newspaper you pick up? Think again, there are only 9 sources for daily news anymore and 8 of them do almost zero investigative reporting, they actually just subscribe to the Associated Press and re-print whatever comes across the wire. The only thing that is origional is the headline.
This list goes on and on, but the story remains the same. If someone doesn't start paying attention to the Sherman Anti-Trust act and enforcing it, the world of hurt that is coming down is going to be like nothing ever witnessed on earth. (Except for a vewy vewy few).
