Thanks- all kidding aside, she seems to really like me.

We had a nooner. I'll admit I dont think I can squeeze 13 bangs into a day though.

The two or three nights of the week that I cook, its usually Italian in nature. Tonight, she wants to eat at a new Japanese hibachi in town, but the name of it is "Ikko". I suggested we go to Shogun's in the next town over- we love it there and there is no "Ikk" in it.

I will, thanks. I also got her a set of dishes I found out she liked. She was looking at them months ago in a store and remarked they were her favorite. I went back the next day and got them.

She melts over any evidence of thought.

I'm pretty young and have a fair amount of stamina, but seven or eight would probably be the limit for me unless they were spaced out properly. Thirteen is just overkill, IMO.

Yeah- 13 isnt a lucky # in this case.

She'll probably be very pleased with dinner and then renting a movie- kids to bed, light a fire ,watch it together then go to bed early.

That sounds much nicer than dropping off from exhaustion after a sexathon, even though I admit the idea of a sexathon appeals to me.

there is one here in Oklahoma City.

The one we go to is pretty classy-it really didnt seem like a chain.
I wear a jacket there, they have a single malt menu.

Maybe its an upscale chain.

Anyway, we'll be trying out this new one tonight. Its only three miles away, so I'm happy.

the one here is pretty upscale too, we have to make reservations a week in advance, my husband wears a suit, and all that. Way too fancy for our kids. They are more of outback people anyway lol they like steak

Ah, what a shame. Is she in work? If so, you should do a Richard Gere... not the hamster thing, I mean the scene from An Officer and a Gentlemen, you'll be set for another 13 years then. ;)

It's really nice to hear about a guy who actually dresses up a bit to out to dinner AND is happy in his marriage. Congrats!! My husband and I made 8 years back on 9/11. Yep, 9/11/97 we got married. Andwe're still very happy!!!
But again, Congrats to you, your wife sounds like a lucky woman!

I dont mind bringing my kids- they are well behaved and I dont have that fear they will do anything wrong. They love the show and eat the food too. My 12 yr old loves the scallops.
We get the whole table to ourselves.

I like Outback-it is more family oriented too, but its her pick tonight.

I'd be happy to cook here. I had visions of grilled filet mignons, shrimp cocktail, grilled asparaugus & eggplant and new potatoes on the new dishes.

She said she wants to go out. My feelings arent hurt. But all thise ingredients are in the fridge now. *L*

I have no problem dressing up a bit. I like jeans and a t-shirt sometimes, but I do have nice clothes that fit well and I like to wear those too. Plus, this is the weather wear wool slacks and a cashmere/camelhair blend jacket was made for.
Eight years went fast, huh? So did 13.

I'm the lucky one here. I do what I can and she seems pretty happy, but I always feel like I'm getting away with something.

your kids are quite a bit older than mine too (I have 2 girls ages 2 and 4)

Don't take it personal that she wants out, mom's need relaxing dinners out whenever they can, even if being at home means you will cook, she still needs out, and the fact that she wants out with you is a compliment.

No-I dont take it personally-I'll be cooking what I intended to cook tonight. So-she is clever- she got a bonus.

Anniversary dinner was great last night. Its a new hibachi place, so the waitstaff and the chef were falling all over us to make sure everything was perfect, then gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne when I told them it was our anniversary. Very nice touch, along with the green tea and red bean ice cream dessert.
The kids were exceptionaly well behaved and my soon to be two year old daughter was wearing her "Belle" (from "Beauty and the Beast") yellow frilly dress and heels. She insisted on wearing it. We got a lot of attention.
On top of that, my 7 yr old and 12 year old ate most of their dinner with chopsticks-and did so well.

It was a good night.
