Max would probably be the first NS player, the damn cheat. :mad:

We should ask someone to psot the exact (or near enough if they can't remember precisely) date they joined, then anyone earlier than tht postss when they joined and back and back until no-one posts, at which point we can assume we have the earliest survivor.

I'd start it off myself but I can't remember for the life of me when I joined lol.

No to both. I pity the oldest survivor, I've only been addicted for a month or so and I'm already regretting getting tangled up with this game in the first place.

The first nation was Maxtopia (Max Barry's own nation), but he let this die as he received too many telegrams - he now plays anonymously. The next time the UN survey is of largest nations you can find out the oldest surviving nation (although the population increases per day vary between 5 and 8 million, the largest nation is ahead by such a large margin that it is almost certainly the oldest).

I joined in april '03:p and a month before with a now deceased puppet.

The first NS player was Max Barry (formerly Maxtopia). The oldest surviving player is apparently someone named Last Hope, according to TMGH in the NS survey a while back... while the surviving player with the largest population is Praetor. There's a difference...

The oldest I don't know, but it won't be the one with the largest population, due to the population bug that once affected nations.

As far as I can tell, populations only increase when you deal with an issue. So the oldest nation could have been on vacation a few times, has a lower frequency of issues to deal with, or dismisses a lot of issues, and therefore has a lower population by some upstart who goes issue crazy.

Not exactly. Some nations (such as mine) were deleted and then reborn. Other nations (such as Drum Gods, not sure if he's still around) had the population bug which caused 2x growth (I think).

I'll certainly agree with that last bit, as I remember nations joining after me who surged past my population numbers with ease.

I'm not the oldest, but my primary nation was founded in late November or early December of 2002, and has been in continuous play ever since. I joined The Black Rose Garden in January of '03, which was a LiveJournal related community who played NS at the time.
