My three yaer old cat has gotten sick seven times in the past two hours. He has watery eyes, a runny nose, he's pale, and keeps getting sick! I can't get him to a vetrinarian until my dad has actual proof that he is sick (like a seizure or something of the sort) and I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?:(

I've got no idea.

Heartworm or something? Has it got all the vaccinations?

He's pale? The cat? How exactly is the cat getting pale?

The watery eyes and runny nose, according to my ASPCA Cat Care book, could indeed be "cat flu" (Feline respiratory disease) or various sinus infections.

If the vomiting is severe or lasts more than 24 hrs, take your cat to the vet. Might be contaminated food, but might be something worse.

There might be a few things to check. How pale is the cat's mouth? Does it have a flea problem? It's also possible that your kitty got into something it shouldn't have. I'm not a vet and I haven't seen the cat, so I couldn't say for sure. It's hard to go by your description of the problem. I hope your cat will be alright.

I am a dog person, but my dog got the flu one time, and he was vomiting a lot and the vet said to mix some electrolyte solution in with his water to keep him hydrated (like one part electrolyte to 4 parts water) and he seemed to feel better after rehydration. Try to keep kitty comfortable, and if it is still puking tomorrow you need to take it to the vet.

He doesn't have all of his vacinations so I guess a heartworm is possible. It can't really be the food because there are a few other cats in the house and they're all fine. He's pretty pale, he doesn't have fleas, and he hasn't gotten in to anything recently. I know we are painting a room in our house but he's been up in my room a lot of the day, away from the smell (I keep my window open). Right now he's in a sound sleep.

I also forgot to mention that his stomach is bloated.

I'm a dog-person as well, but when we first got our ridgeback as a puppy, it turned out that the breeder hadn't give them worm treatment, and she was filled up (literally full) with worms.
She needed an operation to get them all outta there.

Apparently it almost never gets that bad, but sometimes it does.

But with a three year old cat that is probably unlikely.

You really need to try and convince your dad to go to a vet. If your cat is vomiting then it is at serious risk of dehydration, but it is possible your cat has ingested a poisen. One poisen commonly used (to get rid of unwanted pests) will swell when water is drunk and that is actually how it kills the pests.

So the situation is your cat is in danger of dehydration (which most certainly can be fatal) but shouldnt be given fluids untill you can be sure that doing so wont actually make things a lot worse.

We hestitated taking our cat to a vet and by the time we got her there and the vet had seen her, put her on a drip and recommended we take her to an animal hospital for pets, it was too late. We really miss her. If you can convince your dad to take her to a vet then do so. Otherwise at least ring a vet for advice before you try to do anything yourself. We fed our cat fluids and according to the vet it may have been what killed her.:(

Is her nose moist? and is her tongue unsually dry? If these two symptoms are present, along with the others you mentioned. It's a cat flue. Leep her away from your other pets (as much as possible) and keep her comfortable and well hydrated. "Plently of fluids and lots of rest". She may also expierience mild diarrhea on the third and fourth days of the illness.

I'm not a vet or doctor, but I have owned the 3rd Best Long Haired Cat in Australia two years running and the 6th Best Turkish Van or Other Long Haired Cat. (Same cat, for the record)

He seems better now, I think it was probably the paint fumes. He is an indoor cat though so a poisen is very unlikely considering the fact that I spend nearly every waking moment with him. He's still pale and has watery eyes but the other symptoms seemed to have faded. His stomach has been bloated ever since he was fixed so it might just be some dense fat. I think I'll keep him seperate from the other cats overnight and keep a close watch on him. If he starts getting sick again I'll walk him to the vet if that's what it takes!

And pay the vet in what, cat meat...?

If you find your cat hiding for a long period of time TAKE HIM TO THE VET ASAP!!!!! It means that he is incredibly sick. When I was like six or so I somehow knew this, so I told my mom and we took him to the vet and it turns out my cat almost died. But he sure enough he got much better. However a few years later he did something pretty awesome. He barfed up a big maggot and so we took him to the vet, he turned out to be ok, and we put the maggot in a glass of fernaldihide which we still have to this day. Oh yeah, my cat is almost 8 which would make the maggot in fernaldahide 7.

It could be several things. I highly doubt heartworms (less than 8% of cats ever get heartworms and the symptoms do not fit). More than likely your cat does not have anything life thretening. If I were you I would quarantine your sick cat from the others just in case. This will prevent your other cats from getting anything that may be transmited to them.
Keep watch over your cat. Make sure it has plenty of food and water, lots of water. With the vomiting you may want to give your cat strait pedialyte, do NOT dilute it.
Get your cat to the Vet as soon as you can. If your cat does have a serious illness, do not forget about your other cats. They may have pick up the illness as well or your sick cat may have gotten it from one of the others.
I and my mother have volunteered some of our time to animal charity facilities so I do know something about this. So if you do give your cat Pedialyte give it strait, it works better that way. If you do dilute it you may change the way it is absorbed by your cats intestines.

Hope your kitty is OK.

STrange enough, my cat made it through the night without getting sick again and he seems fine again. He's no longer pale or anything! My cat doesn't hide when he is sick, he comes to me and sleeps on my bed. I'm not sure why he does it but it's very cute!:p

Glad to hear your cat is now in apparent good health. Just be sure to keep an eye on your cat. There are times a cat becomes ill then appears to get better only to become ill again. I am not saying to scare you, it just happens sometimes. I am myself the "owner" of 9 cats, was 10 three days ago.

You want a Vet at this time of night?

Kaykami the reason people warned you about the cat going to hide is that when cats think they are dying they go and look for a quiet, concealed (often cool as well) place to die.

How do you know your cat is pale?
Shouldnt it have fur or feathers unless its one of those regurgitated Horse Droppings known as Siamese......
