Very, very few people know what these wonderful folks go through. I'm especially proud of the newly married women whose new husbands are sent to Iraq who don't dispair or run around on them. [ salutes ]

BTW: This song is a tear jerker. Well for me it is because I know what these people go through.

I'm so very thankful that I didn't marry before going to Vietnam. After I got married, I went to Germany with Feforger III for three months and like to have died! God, I missed them so much! My wife told me that our 2-year-old kept saying, "I wanna see my dadn'!" :(

When my dad was constently gone and didn't call for days at a time, I would begin to get into trouble at school. That was when my mom forced Dad to call as often as he can to reassure me (9yo when this occured) that he was alright.
I guess that is why this song hits me so hard. I remember those days so vividly and it'll always be with me for the rest of my life.

When my dad was constently gone and didn't call for days at a time, I would begin to get into trouble at school. That was when my mom forced Dad to call as often as he can to reassure me (9yo when this occured) that he was alright.
I guess that is why this song hits me so hard. I remember those days so vividly and it'll always be with me for the rest of my life.
I know something of how that feels. He use to take me with him on vacation for two weeks every Summer, which I dearly loved. The only problem was that I would cry for days and sometimes off and on for weeks, after vacation was over. My grandparents often wondered if it might be better for me if Dad didn't take me with him. I'm sure glad they decided it would hurt me even more to not go.
