Given time we or another civilisation will/would almost certainly be able to create artificial intelligences and virtual environments to live in. As these simulated worlds don't require a great deal of resources to exist there is almost no limit to how many environments could be created. A future desktop computer could theoretically contain the planet earth. Accepting these facts means that mathematically it is probable we are in a simulated environment.

I think we should actually kill Peter Jackson too, for that new King Kong movie...

There are some lengths a scientist won't go to so they can prove a point. Mass suicide is one of them.

We apologise for the rebirth glitch that seems to have affected many of our servers. You will be pleased to note we have fixed the problem that causes automatic respawning of certain player-classes.

Actually, that would be more like Serial Experiments Lain, wouldn't it? In the Matrix, if you're unplugged, you die and whatnot, right? BTW, Ghost in the Shell is a better take than the Matrix, at least it doesn't try to be pretentious w/ pseudo-religious overtones. Sorry I got off subject, I'll be quiet now.
