This Remembrance Day

Is the first one without my grandpa.

He was the only member of my family I ever knew who fought in a war.

I miss him.

...but surely we've had enough Rememberance Day threads for now?

At any rate: Another shout-out to all the veterans who do get forgotten - namely everyone not from an English-speaking country....

I don't know you, but nevertheless am sorry for your loss. I also lost a grandparent this time last year and know how hard it can be to pass through the first year without them. My condolences.

I will have a drink for his honor. Many soldiers in my family; So I have a drink in their honor every year.

He died in the spring.

It's just that usually on Remembrance day, when we'd have the moment of silence, I'd think of him, since he was the only person I knew who actually went off to war. This is the first year he's not around. Nor will he ever be around again. :(

I lost one Grandfather when i was 6 and the other when i was 14.:(
