So What?

Today was Veteran’s Day in the United States, remembrance day in the Commonwealth nations. So what?

Why does everyone care so much about what a bunch of men willing to use violence as a means to coerce others did for the politicians in control of the government at that time?

At least in the US, a soldier has not died defending United States lives and property since the Poncho Villa Expedition of 1916. An American soldier has not died “defending freedom” since the American Civil War, and even then, most Union soldiers could have cared less about the blacks. The much celebrated World War Two was a sham for us. FDR deliberately provoked the Japanese in order to bring us into a global war. The reasons behind entering World War One are also shady at best.

People act as if we owe ex-soldiers so much. The fact is, the vast majority of us owe those dogs of the state nothing.

It means some people get a day off from school. Lucky them.

Because without them we wouldn't have some of the freedoms, and liberties we have now.

Oh I don't think there are many more inflamatory things you could have said. And calling people dogs? How many of those people do you know? Your making generalizations about people you haven't met and don't know. Not quite the best way to go around saying you don't like wars.

Critique time! Yay! Lets get to the juicy bits. This is a bit cut-up from the original.

Why does everyone care so much about what a bunch of men willing to use violence as a means to coerce others did for the politicians in control of the government at that time?

What? Please resend, transmission garbled.

Ok, the BEEFY bit! You are right there with me till World War II. Mistake: FDR did NOT provoke the Japanese, he simply had foreknowledge of the attack that he did not share with the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor. And then chose to put the ambasador off till after the attack so he could call it a 'surprise' attack. Still, better Americans die in Europe then in America. Hitler was insane.

EDIT: Spelling error.

All threats to American freedom and liberty in the last eighty to one hundred years have been internal.

Merely an expression.
More accurately phrased, voluntary slaves of the state.
