Seriously people, do you have to be on the phone ALL the time?

These days it seems that some people just can't go anywhere or do anything without a cell phone to their ear.

In northern Virginia, police say they're looking for a woman who's been holding up banks while chatting on her phone.

I just don't know what this world is coming to, when bank robbers don't have enough professional courtesy to hang up the phone when they're robbing!

There is a sign in the Post Office at the airport in Tulsa that says, "Please finish your phone conversation before you get to the counter."

At least people can be courteous. Don't answer that phone in a restaurant at lunch or dinner. Do not be on the phone when conducting business at the Post Office, and never ever rob a bank while talking on the phone.

Haha. My cell phone just rang as I was about to reply to this. Guilty as charged, I suppose. :\

I've known lots of different types of gay men, but I've never known one who didn't spend plenty of time on the phone. =)

Well, the person on the other end was a gay man, too, so this is doubleplusinteresting. :D

Oooooohhh! Is he cute? Because if he's cute, then you have full permission to ignore my thread to talk to him. =)

Speaking of which, I have to leave the thread now =( My boyfriend is here to get me =)

He is, but it was just a quick talk.

He: "Can I come over? I'm horny."
I: "It's five in the morning."
He: "So?"

I hung up. He's called me back, but I'm playing hard to get, it seems.

Speaking of which, I have to leave the thread now =( My boyfriend is here to get me =)

Greetings to him from the Swedish delegation!

hey, I've seen that sign! I feel special. I also feel annoyed that we even need a sign, I used to get so mad when people would be at my place of business talking on thier cell phones about the "slow service", when the truth was if they would get off the stupid phone it would have been a heck of a lot easier for me to serve them:headbang:

..Wow. People are idiots.

See, if I'm gonna be on the phone, I actually feel bad if I'm in a public spot where others are forced to listen to me. I try to avoid that. I also don't answer my phone during school, etc, unless it's important...Even then, I wait to check it (I always leave it on silent/vibrate, too, in such places). It's sad what cellphones have done for manners.

Heh. I don't have any cell phone, and I don't plan to get one either. But then, I don't exactly have many people to talk to, and even less to talk about. (as I, unless I'm intrested in the specific topic and the conversation is meaningful, or the conversation is humorous enough to otherwise be intresting, am completely unintrested in all kinds of social chatting)

I think I am currently the only person in North America who can afford a cell phone but doesn't have one.

I can't stand them. I really don't want to be that accessable. My philosophy is that if you need to contact me you know where I am, if you don't know where I am you probably don't really need to contact me.

I had one when I was in the Army mainly because I had to. If one of my soldiers got into trouble he had to be able to call me. However, when I was going home to Michigan from Colorado (where I was stationed) after I got out it rang and one of my soldiers was calling me. Realizing that I didn't need it anymore I smashed it when I got to a hotel for the night. Haven't had one since.

It's funny sometimes, people ask me for my phone number and then ask what company I go through, as some companies offer free calls to people on the same network. When I tell them I don't have a cell phone a lot of them just stare at me for a second in confusion and disbelief.

I haven't had a cell phone in years, geeze. Been meanin to get one, its just that money is the problem. However, I'm not one to be constant on the phone unless its someone I know at the other end, and I want to talk to'em, then I stay on the house phone for a while to talk. Cell phones? Instinct there, its limits on'em, and I haven't actually had one in my name in years.

So, you know....

Very few men have ever been able to unravel this question, all though most sages agree that Russel Crowe came fairly close when he threw a phone at a concierge.

I do enjoy the fact that we're all concentrating on the cell phone part and not the robbing banks part. Says a lot about us. :D
