Fried up with onion, garlic a little green pepper and the right amount of salt and pepper
Mashed garlic mashed, cheese mashed or plain with lots of real butter.

Cheesy Mash! It's what potatoes dream of being part of when they're stuck in the ground in the depths of the cold, harsh winter, through the warming spring, and the dry summer - only for some cretin to cut them up and fry the poor bastards all in the name of 'fast food'.

Yeah, cheesy mash - cheddar works well, as does double gloucester. Also, red leicester. I've not tried stilton, but I'm sure that would work. Lancashire and wensleydale sadly don't work, but it means more cheese just for eating straight from the pack.

Sliced thin, fried in olive oil and butter, then seasoned with salt and just a hint of pepper.

Really bad french fries are the best kind of potatoes. You know, when they are sort of wilty and burnt, covered with brown crunchy bits, over salted, and taste vaguel of either cigarettes or ash.

I once wrestled in mashed potatoes. Every year Maine as a Potato Festival and they have Mashed Potato Wrestling. Well, while I was in college, I gave it a go.

It was quite fun. Much easier to keep oit of your eyes than mud or pudding. :)

Mashed with butter and milk, cream, or sour cream is great. Baked and then topped with lots of butter, chives, bacon, and sour cream is good. Fried and eaten with mayonnaise instead of catsup is OK. Fried with catsup is disgusting; in fact, anything with catsup is disgusting. Catsup :gundge:

Yes :) Also the potato cakes(as I call them) that a previous poster mentioned.. like fried bread, but potatoes. I like am all sorts of ways.. roasted, grilled, stewed, baked, fried(not french fried.. I'm talking fried in a pan with onions), mashed etc etc.

I like the new and red(I call them red, but after reading this I think they are the huckleberry) potatoes best for grilling or roasting. Skin left on ofcourse.

I like my tatties Roasted in Goose fat flecked with good Cheshire Salt and a nice rich gravy (preferably Game) or Mashed with Cream and Butter and Gravy..
