TO is a giant douche!!!

I tend to dislike the Eagles, but I have to give Andy Reid credit for getting rid of that douchebag. He is just making an ass of himself now and he just read the most faked apology ever. HE didn't write it, his agent Drew Rosenhaus did.

So I'll just say: what (http://www.smileyvillage.com/smilies/sign0093.gif)?

Terrel Owens, or TO as most call him, is a prima dona wide-receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, an American football team. He has pissed off pretty much his whole team over the past year by holding out for a new contract, bashing Donovan McNabb, skipping training camp, bashing the organization for not making a big deal over his 100th TD reception, bashing McNabb again, etc. He is a douche and so is his agent.

If anyone has ever seen the HBO series "Arli$$" they would see that Rosenhaus is the real life equivilant.

I don't blame you for not knowing this Fass. I doubt you watch American sports.

I thought he was talking about the band. He would've been right: THEY SUCK.

Donovan McNabb. Even a tool deserves to have his name stated correctly.

:( I liked this thread a lot better when it was all mysterious... Now everyone's just adding negative feelings.
Have some :fluffle: 's, everyone, cheer up, it's(/was) a great day and I get Friday off. You should all celebrate that with me.

...Getting annoyed at things you can't change anyways isn't worth it most of the time.

Amen. He and Moss are just idiots. Between TO's shit and Moss's mooning GB fans (as much as I hate GB since I'm a Bears fan) is just bullshit. BOth should be suspended for a year the next time they pull any shit.

Anyone remember what TO did at Texas Stadium on the Cowboy's star in 2000?

Yeah--I thought it was pretty funny, and I thought it was equally funny when that Dallas safety clocked him at full speed as well.

What's the big deal here? So TO is an arrogant prick--who cares? He gets paid to catch footballs and score touchdowns, both of which he does exceedingly well, and next year, some team will sign him to another fat contract and he'll still be an arrogant prick, and as long as their team wins and he scores touchdowns, no one will give a rat's ass. How does his actions, his assholishness, affect you? It doesn't, any more than the assholish actions of people on this board affects you.

What did he do on the Cowboys' star?

And yes, he is a jerk, and though he catches footballs well, I'd say that said fact doesn't compensate for the fact that he just can't seem to work with other people because he's just so damn arrogant. Oh well, whatever. The world has many people like that, and there are few people worth hating. TO is not one of them. He is just a silly egotistical football player.

He scored a touchdown and then ran to the middle of the field and stood with his arms outstretched to celebrate. He actually did it twice, and the second time was when the Dallas safety clocked him.

The Niners (Owens' team at the time) did have a long-running feud with the Cowboys, but his actions were out of line.

To be honest, however, I don't get why everyone always lambasts him so much. He sometimes does stupid stuff, but other times he does things that are justly wildly funny and inventive: I was watching the game when he pulled the Sharpie from his sock and signed the ball, and both I and the announcers (Joe Buck, Troy Aikmen) thought it was pretty damn funny. I also thought that his pom-pom celebration later that season was wildly funny too. Yet he got criticized for that. Same thing with his attempts to play the game: Owens had as of last year never been in a Super Bowl, and he went in at partial strength and played like a champ. Yet he got criticized again, because he was "putting his health at risk" (newsflash: if you don't want to put your health at risk, you don't play a sport that involves ridiculously overmuscled people slamming into each other for three hours). Given how much he had been paid, he probably would have been criticized if he hadn't played.

I guess the main question I'm asking here is to ask why people don't admit that TO is in fact a guy who is sometimes an asshole, and sometimes an inventive showman, and sometimes one of the phenomenally capable athletes in the NFL? Why is it that he's only a prima-donna (everybody except Michael Irvin), or why is he only a showman (Michael Irvin). Why is it that everything the guy does, no matter what, always earns condemnations from everybody even when, if they were done by people like Barry Sanders, they earn great praise?

fuck him.

They could find 20 more mutants that play as well as him in a week.

Arrogant, showboating scumbags that would be in jail if they werent playing professional sports.

And some that will go to jail in spite of that. Big deal-you can catch a ball and run-and teach their fans how to be self absorbed, sore winners, sore losers and all around useless scumbag trash.

Whatever you may say about his sportsmanship, this particular quotation is highly inaccurate. There are maybe five guys in the league that can play anywhere near his caliber of football.

I didn't have a problem with the pom pom celebration or the pen in sock. I actually thought that was a nice one. What is really pissing people off is his bashing of his QB. As a WR you have to work with your QB and be his best friend, not his worst enemy. You can't bash your coaches like he does. That and holding out on the contract are what pissed people off, not the celebrations. Irvin is a prima-dona too and ironically he is the only moron defending him on ESPN.

Colleges are full of potentials. Put the same effort and money into any one of them and you'll probably turn out another.

To me, sportsmanship and being part of a team is far more important that one show-off cocksucker that happens to be a skilled player.
He is so great-they've decided to go on without him.

I'd love to see more athletes follow Derek Jeter's lead. He is a fantastic all round player, a good sportsman, polite gentleman. All athletes should aspire to be like him. I dont see him ever bringing disgrace to his team or family through poor behavior, regardless of his success.

This whole episode is borderline hilarious...hopefully Owens ends up having to get a brand new contract that's worth far less than what he thinks he's worth. It's sad that someone with such talent and such uniqueness had to decide to be an asshole like this. Maybe a new team will set him straight; Randy Moss has been more or less pretty quiet in Oakland, just as Corey Dillon shut his face when he went to New England. I commend the Eagles' organization for kicking him to the curb, though; it's about damn time and he should have been in Baltimore anyway (I wonder how he would have done there?)

And yes, more athletes should be like Derek Jeter. And I don't just say that because I am a fan of his; I met him before he started playing for the Yankees and he really is a nice guy. Not to say that all althletes need to live up to that shining example, but less asshats like T.O. would be appreciated.

He's a ass most of the time. A "me" player in a team game

And I think it's pretty safe to say that Barry Sanders would NEVER pull any of the tasteless, egotistical, showboating garbage that T.O., Micheal Irvin or any of the typical classless, overrated, egomanical punks you see running on a NFL field at any given time.

He had class, something alot of players have no concept of now.

Because quoting the Daily Show is my natural reaction to most current events that I don't know about:

"When was the last time you could go to work, call your boss a dick, say he's not doing a good job, punch out another employee, then sit back and go, 'I think I'll play tonight, yeah.'?"
