And its going to be the best damn sleep ever!

(For there to be a real discussion, please discuss the viability of creating pre-paid credit cards for youths, etc, in terms of economic possibility. These cards would have a set limit, probably between 20 and 100-200 dollars, with a small charge added(2 dollars for the 20 dollar card, 5 for the 100, etc).)

Good Night.

And how is that different from pocket money? Why do they have to pay with credit cards in the first place?
Isn't a simple savings card enough? "Don't spend what you don't have" is a good idea, particularly when you're young.

Why? You can get all that from a regular bank card without the small charge.

Whats with all the killing talk?
It's got to do with pushing my "Keynes" thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=452936) further down the list, so that no one responds and I posted it for nothing.
It's all one big conspiracy you know...

No idea, but if you're really a drunken dove, then I'd kill you for drinking my beer AND for being a thoroughly annoying animal

Not kids. Kids can use these for online games, online purchases, etc. Its convinient, because you dont have to carry around tons of cash. You can't really get jacked, unless they drag you to an atm after beating you up.

Yes, kids. Not all banks will give out cards to kids, but some will with parents permission (like my bank). I guess you have a point with buying things online, but with all the scams that are on the internet kids probably should not be buying things online by themselves. You can get jacked because the person could just use the card to buy something online.

Indeed, I'm 17 and have a credit card in a duel account with my parents. I dislike this, personally. I just think, with decent advertising, a product such as this might sell well(better than cash or gift cards as presents imo, etc).

On another note, I'm just about to go to bed again. Last nights sleep was pretty good, too.

How young are you able to get a duel account? If its around 13-15 + all they need is to advertise it. Savings card does seem much better in a general sense- not everyone is responsible, or has responsible parents - credit card debt is killer:sniper: .

Had duel (like, fighting duel, or is it dual? hmmmm) since I was 15. Its great. Use it to purchase items online. It was fantasic. Its cap was like 2000 some bucks, but only ever got it up to like fifty, and payed it off immediately, gotta love that no-intrest free-float perioud while I rake up cash....:D

I meant to say a debit card btw, not a credit card where you can incure debt, etc.

I dont see a problem with that, is it just lack of advertising or availability?

Ah yes, but you can't use a debit card when you have no money, like I usually do.

For some reason, my bank gave a me a "pre-paid credit card" and I was like, "Um, debit?" So now I have a credit card, with my ma and pa, and a "pre-paid credit card" just for me that doesn't work at most retail stores, banks, or ATMs. But then again, I'm in another country, and the banking systems probably don't cooperate. *shrugs*

So - do they pay for like a month or so? Whats the interest if you miss a payment in the future? [I'd be damn sure if I was you I wasn't trapping myself ]

What, on the "pre-paid credit card?" No, they don't pay anything. Its all my cash.

On the acutal credit card, yes, we pay montly. But we all gotta pay together, and don't actually do any of the paper work. Say I spend 43.67 dollars and cents, I just give my mum or pa 50 to pay for the intrest if they miss it, telling them I used it. I doubt it counts for the acutal intrest, but whatever. They don't mind. So, technically, I don't know if I have a Credit Rating. The card is in my name, but I beleive that it is attached to my mothers account, and has its own cap. I've used maybe five times, I personally don't advocate much use of a credit card, only in emergencies or small on-line purchases (like, I don't use E-Bay, or online auction houses). So, I have some self-imposed restraints.

I also don't keep it in my wallet! :D

Well.. I know if you miss a payment on a credit card they can add on like 1/4 of the debt [ pulled out of my ass - I know its a fair ammount ]. Kudos for the restraint though.

I'm pretty sure the 1/4 things is right.

Thanks for the kudos, I'm still looking for a cookie though (never mind that, off topic).
