Mmm, That's Good Bush Irony

Eyeing three upcoming presidential elections in Latin America, Bush said citizens must choose "between two competing visions" for their future.

One, he said, pursues representative government, integration into the world community and freedom's transformative power for individuals.

"The other seeks to roll back the democratic progress of the past two decades by playing to fear, pitting neighbor against neighbor and blaming others for their own failures to provide for the people," he said. "We must make tough decisions today to ensure a better tomorrow."

I'm sure some won't see the irony, which is their right, of course.

I see it. Then again, I'm the master of irony and sarcasm, so it may be a given.

I second that too. Even those punctuation marks. I second those too.

It's kind of like when Bush questioned the integrity of the Iranian voting process.

Maybe it would be ironic if the US had a major party that sought to bring freedom to the individual and allow representative government.
As it is, I just feel real jealous that other people get to have good guys.

Wow, isn't that how both parties played the whole last election in the US? Wish someone would bring this amazing system of goverment Bush is talking about to the US.

One good thing about the current state of the US government: It helps one to cultivate a keen sense of the ironic.

This may be the only good thing that it is possible to say about the current state of the US government.

Some people, alas, are immune to irony, even when they are producing it.

I'm tempted to go into a long, profane rant about the idiocy of humankind in general. But I'm just too tired right now to do it justice.
