I am looking for advice rather than an argument on this. In britain (where i live) the DS is alot cheaper than the PSP and i am perfectly aware that the PSP has more features icluding being able to watch movies, but im really just looking for something to play games on, other than using my p.c and something that i can take around with me. The proce difference between both in britain is about £80 pounds give or take. I need some help on whether i should get a PSP or DS. So the advantages of both would be good. Thanks very much.

Depends on whether you want to wait for good games to come out now for the PSP, or get many low-quality games now for the DS.

In fact, Grand Theft Auto: LCS comes out around this time in Europe for the PSP. That's loads of fun to say the absolute least.

Get the DS. Longer charge time, cheaper, and better games(can play both GBA great games, and good new DS games like Advance Wars DS, etc).

Ah kk thanks. I was looking from the view of somebody already with a DS. Im sort of looking for something like that to be honest. Do you need batteries with DS? What are the graphic qualities like? Im also going to get the sims 2 for it, do you know what that is like?

Cheers

It has a battery included, that has about a 10 hour charge(and takes a couple hours to recharge with the included charger). The graphics are fine... 2d is very good looking, and the 3d can be good at times(Super mario looked pretty good). Its more of a 2d system, but there are a number of 3d games. As for sims 2, can't help you there.

I prefer the PSP. It's far more versatile. I can play music on it, watch movies, even copy my movies from dvd and store them on the memory stick. I can even access the Nationstates Forum! :D

I am not in the least impressed with the games for PSP. Yet. There are some good ones coming soon. I mostly use my PSP for the movies.

Not got a DS but played one. 5 minutes playing Nintendogs convinced me to get the system. It's the first system that I've ever played on instinct from the first second. And I've played a lot.

Played on a PSP and was underwhelmed. I know no-one with one, it's too expensive for what it does (not a lot).

Right, ok thanks for all your help, i think that i will be getting one then. I know what you mean, for their price and what they do, they are quite expensive, and as i only really want something for games it not worth spending another £80 which i could use on something else, for the extras of MP3 player and dvd, wen i have an MP4 player neways. Once again, Cheers.

One last thing, I really suggest getting Advance wars DS. If you are into strategy games at all, its a very good game. Its replay value is literally endless, and it got me more playtime out of my DS than all my other games combined.

Hmmm I got the DS last christmas and there's been like 20 games released in almost a year. Sad, yes?
