Not an actual quote but the spirit is correct.
Bush sends staff back to ethics class
Memo: Staff should adhere to 'spirit' of all rules

Too little, too late to show that you care about ethics.
Oh, and by the way even if this was the 'right time', make your team take an ethics course BEFORE you are president. It only looks better BEFORE you take office, not 5 years AFTER.

Uh, I think the word refresher means that they DID take an ethics course "before".
And, since they DID take one before, maybe that means to do care about ethics.
Hey...I can understand you're frustration about the current administration. I've voted for him twice now, and even I'm not too impressed. But, you gotta make logical points, not just emotional ones.

I think some may have been skipping classes and bribing the teachers. :)

What part of "send(ing) the staff back" did you miss? Let me give you a hint, it's the bolded word. Whereas Bush feels the need to refresh his staff's ethical education (and who doesn't need to have a reminder every now and then?), this contrasts with Clinton, who proclaimed he would have the "most ethical administration"...I guess the message didn't get to Mike Espy and Ron Brown and Janet Reno and Al Gore and...the list is very long.
Bottom line, the Bush White House has had ONE indictment, which comes out of an effort to make the record clear (and I don't expect that case will net much for the Left, because if I were Scooter Libby's attorney, the first person I would want on the stand would be Joe Wilson, followed by Valerie Plame, then Tim Russert...let's see who was REALLY lying!) The number of indictments and convictions from the Clinton White House is a lot higher than one...

Damn! You got me excited....I love dumb Bush quotes.
It was kind of odd to see 2 headlines virtually one atop the other (on a website news headlines linkie list) to the effect of
Bush sending staff off for ethics revision
Cheney fighting to keep torture on the menu...
Honestly I thought it was beyond ironic, surreal even. Then I actually read the articles. Apparently the ethics training is being premised not because seniour members of the administration apparently support and advocate the torture of human beings, but because of goings ons (or possible goings ons) regarding classified info....
Ok that is reprehensible and all, but in relation to advocating torture....WTF
The fact that this is 'additional training' that is being suggested, bemused me further. If we get hold of the course resources from their original 'ethics training' will a quick pursual of printed materials show the copywrite holder to be a Dr H. Lector?

This is old news. I was telling this to everyone over 5 years ago. But did anyone listen? Of course not, and now they must pay the piper. Maybe in 2008? Don't bet on it! Seems most people like being oppressed, just so they can have something to complain about. Anyone who votes Republican, Democrat or Libertarian will surely suffer the consequences. Try the Constitution or Peace and Justice Party, you'll be glad you did.
